I think it's a good app with a great idea. I just don't like that the only way to explore these 3D models is via an augmented reality marker. I wish I could just explore these spacecraft from within the app and have the augmented reality be a fun bonus. Let me play with the models in representations of their current environment. I should be able to open the app and fully interact with the spacecraft whenever I want, not only via the camera and if I have a printed marker on hand.

It's ok I mean I've played better games.I think there should be a marker that comes with the app and my printer doesn't have ink at the moment so I can't really do anything.I like it because it provides good info on the spacecrafts.

My sister went to a career fair and the NASA guys were present. She was able to get an AR Target Image card, download the software, and amaze all of us! I printed the card from NASA's website and was able to do the same. This program (and the geniuses who were able to create it) is literally...out of this world.

Tried to use this with the "Augmented reality" images in the "Mars up Close" book. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work at all.

This app is terrific. You do need to print the target for it to work though. If you can mount the target to something firm like cardboard you can take photos of the crafts sitting in your hand. It would be great if the app could use the front facing camera to take selfies and if there were a mode to record video. I had fun posting photos of me holding my new "toys" on Facebook though they were so convincing I think most people didn't get the joke and thought they were real models. The controls aren't that intuitive but there are so few, you can pick up on what to do very quickly. All in all its a really great way to geek out on some NASA crafts.
