Useful but needs work
emiliabroon

This is a great app and I’ve been looking for an app like this for awhile. The achievements that you can earn are a good start, but aren’t exactly motivational. Plus, even when I go over my time/unlock goal, I still earn the achievement. Like, if my time goal was 3 hours, graph will say that I spent 4 hours but I still earned the stars for “meeting my time goal.” It’s hard to be motivated to meet the goal when I earn the “prize” for going over my time.

Nice idea

I really wanted this to work and motivation wise it does, I know it’s there and I feel guilty being on my phone to long regardless of whether it works or not. The problem is that it doesn’t actually work. Everytime I lock my screen it stops working so if I don’t immediately go to that app and turn it off and then turn it on again then it doesn’t track anything. It also sends me a notification to tap to turn it back on when it stops tracking but the notification disappears if you forget to do it on your lock screen and it’s nowhere to be found in the app. I’ll get in the app to get it running sometimes and then go do my thing and come back to it only to find it didn’t track anything. Fix the glitches and then it’ll be awesome but for now it only works in theory. Oh and I do have my location services on “ always on” if you want to know

Does Not Work
shadikarimii

I have activated/allowed access to and refreshed all that was required; however, the app does not work.

okay app
annag42

notifies me too often, though.

Love it
Bread 2.0

My only criticism is that I wish the notifications were more frequent.

Actively tracks location. No thanks.

App will not work unless you let it continually track your location. Not in the background. It tracks your every movement as if you were using your gps. I’m not interested in giving out that information. Forget for a second the battery drain this causes. With all the nefarious data collection we are learning about right now, I’m not interested in providing this information to a random developer who says “our app won’t work without it” There can only be three reasons they would say “it won’t work”: 1. It’s a lie. It could in fact be made to do so, but they won’t do it. They want the data for reasons likely inherent to their business model. In this case they are dishonest and can’t be trusted with said data. 2. They can’t figure out how to do it. In which case, they are incompetent and shouldn’t be trusted with said data. 3. It really can’t be done. They are telling the truth. Which means there is a massive inherent battery drain baked in, no matter what. In which case, their app is broken and it’s not worth it to trust them with said data.

Good, but needs a notification system upgrade

This app is excellent, but it needs a system to where that if you spend over a certain amount of time on your phone, it will notify you. Overall, it was a pretty good app.

Unlocks inaccurate

I will wake up in the morning and it’ll tell me I’ve unlocked my phone 7 times and I know I haven’t even used it yet.

Great App- One Suggestion

This is a great app and I love (and hate) seeing how much I’m on my phone. One thing I’d love to see is a notification every thirty minutes I’m on my phone. I get the notifications every ten minutes but I can ignore them easily. I can easily ignore “Hey we just saw you!” but it’d be harder to ignore something like “You’ve been on your phone for 4 hours today.” The latter would shame me to get off my phone and be more effective. Overall, though, great app!

Am I just using this wrong or is this a bug?

Great app! This is a good tool for monitoring your own phone usage and helping cut back. I wish the messages were customizable (the whole "Don't you want to be more productive in the real world?" is way too specific and actually does the opposite of helping me and I've had to turn those messages off completely even though having some sort of reminder pop up would probably help me more.) It hasn't been working great lately though. It completely stopped tracking my progress for a few days and then said I spent 26 hours on my phone in one day. Lately, it only sometimes tracks my usage. I've definitely been using my phone for most of the morning (a couple hours) and it says I've only been on for 10 minutes. I always have the app open in the background. Do I need to "check in" at the beginning of every day to tell it that it's a new day or something?
