Awesome AAC App!

CosmicGoddess

I’m an Autistic person who uses this app when under extreme stress. More importantly, I introduced the lite version to my cousin, who is nonspeaking, Autistic, and has intellectual disability, some months ago, and went ahead and purchased the full version because it’s that great. It’s very intuitive for both of us and through it, he has expressed things he’s never before been able to. The only complaint I have about this app is that editing pages is tedious and can rearrange things too much if you’re not careful, which impacts motor planning. Otherwise, I love Sono Flex and would recommend it for anyone who needs a relatively-inexpensive AAC solution.

Wonderful!

This app is reflective of excellent research by a world renowned company called Tobii ATI. It is very user-friendly and is color coded according to the Fitzgerald Key, which is also world-renowned in the field of AAC. This app features five Acapela voices, which are very pleasant to the ear. One can also important photos from the photo folder on one's iOS device in a very easy manner. Well done, Tobii, and thank you for the introductory price on the first day of its debut! Get it today if you can!

Full version...it's about time.

I am so excited the full version was released! Great voices! So easy to speak full sentences and organize my new voice. The quick phrases are so easy and quick to find. Can't wait to see sono flex on the C8. Thanks Tobii!

Great app

It's really great, I'd like the to be able to delete history and it would be awesome if you also can do TV out!

GREAT just needs a couple things

This is well thought out, it would be nice however, to be able to get ahold of an actual person for info, suggestions, etc. I would like to be able to turn off the long press to edit, but don't see a way to do this. Some users will accidentally press too long and will go to edit mode. Would love to be able to have a scanning feature as well.

Good but could be great with a few tweaks!

Sono flex is well organized and has many great boards for different themes. The quick phrase feature is very handy. It can be easily programmed with additional buttons and has features to choose the part of speech to be added into the Fitzgerald keyboard arrangement. This app could move to being great if it had the option of speaking as each button is pressed. In the current version, one puts in a phrase by pressing any number of buttons but it does not speak each word while it is entered. it only speaks the completed phrase after touching a separate area. The quick phrase page is the only one to speak an entire phrase immediately when a button is pushed.

Wow! We love this AAC app!

I am the mom of a child with high functioning autism. My son suffers from anxiety, and often will not or cannot tell us what is wrong. This is helping us figure out what is wrong. I am also a speech pathology assistant and have tested out many communication apps. Sono Flex has a spot on our front page because it is excellent. It has a handy manual which made it easy for me to program too, which is very important to me. The color coding is fantastic, the voices are easy to understand! The history tab is wonderful! I would love to see a qwerty board though, as that is what my son is used to for typing. This app is right up there with the big price tag AAC apps like Proloquo2Go. As a mom and an educator, I am VERY happy to see a high quality communication app at $99. Please keep it this way to help give voices to more children and adults who need help communicating.

liked very much

Love the color coding the large amount of pre made boards- would like easier editing mode. Also would like a way to make the buttons speak immediately when you tap them- the message window is a bit much for some of my students

Great AAC app!

I am the mother of a special needs 3 year old with neurofibromatosis, apraxia of speech and suspected aspberger's. He is mostly non-verbal due. However, after using SonoFlex Lite for a little while, we noticed that he was extremely interested in the app. Unlike other AAC apps that we tried, this one held his interests. Now that we have the full version, he's actually been communicating with us. It's only his name and age right now, but it's more than we ever though we'd get. SonoFlex is so easy to use, and the ability to change the expressions to use familiar pictures is amazing. Thanks!
