This FREE DAW is great for capturing ideas quickly. It is also great for bands and artists who want an iPad app to quickly record Rehearsals, Practice Sessions, & Live sets from digital mixers that have multi-track interfaces built in like the Midas & Behringer X-Air mixers. The value is great and this developer has a 20 year history of building stable applications and the addition of SongTree on all major platforms including iOS is a huge plus. If you are on a tight budget you can record a rehearsal with SongTree on your iPad then transfer it to your desktop DAW or just open your iPad session on the desktop with the Mac or Windows version of SongTree which is also FREE. Thank you to the developers and everyone on the SongTree platform!

I’m a producer and multi instrumentalists and this surpasses all others available. It integrates directly with your DAW both desktop and mobile phone platforms. So much fun, great tool for developing ideas and mostly everyone is positive!! No hate all love. Don’t waste your time with anything else. Except maybe band hub. Top two.
Can't get in to the app

So, I've did the "Request Invitation" several times but, so far, no invite so this is pretty useless. 2 stars for the promo video.

I've used it less than 24 hrs, so time will tell, but this could be a 5 star app, and just as easily be a total dud. I got my invite and set up an account initially on my 6+. I signed in using G+. But I can't open it on my iPad without requesting another invite??? Another problem I see is no integration with other apps. I record everything on iPad using a Line6 sonicport. Which means I use apps like Bias, JamUp, and POD for my amps and effects. How am I supposed to overdub through your app without inter-app audio, or audio copy, or even audiobus or audio share support?? Add support for any or all of those, and this could be an incredible app!

I asked for my invitation and got it. Listened for a short while and I like the concept excellent but I am already in design mode. Add a function to mix trak without playing but that might defeat the purpose of the concept. Maybe a new app when this gets of the ground more. I'm delighted. JpB
Invite Only?

Why release an application publicly then proceed to make it invite only? That just seems ludicrous to me. Maybe they are trying to build false hype, I don't know. When I clicked to get an invite it informed me that there were currently 36 people ahead of me. What are these 36 people and myself waiting for, some sort of unexplained vetting process? I feel I am being generous giving this app the neutral three stars. But, it just makes zero sense to me to not explain how a potential user gets invited or rather how long that they have to wait to be invited. I normally would not review an application that I haven't used yet. But, this seemingly ludicrous barrier to even get into this application, well, I felt it deserved a mention to let other App Store users know that you cannot just download and use this application right off the bat. If I ever do get let into the Songtree, I will then update my review accordingly. As it stands now, though, I am not sure that I would recommend an application that will not even let a user into it. iPad Air 2/ iOS 8.3

This is a great tool for musicians. I use it frequently to jam and collaborate as well as a simple sketch pad for musician ideas!

Nice way to share your music! Could use a tutorial on how to use the app though not very user friendly where the effects are concerned. How to get started is a bit tricky if you're not used to record software or DAW apps. I like it maybe they can add that in a upgrade? Nice starting app overall!
