This guy is personally responsible for helping me learn the next direction on guitar. He's great at teaching and this app certainly helps with that. The app needs some work but it's a start with some great things. Thanks a lot!
NOT for beginners

The description claims this app will teach you to play even if you have never touched a guitar before. Is is untrue. The very first lesson starts by throwing around jargon, and even explicitly states that it will not teach you how to do the basic -- "hopefully you have that already." Very disappointing for a beginner. Might be OK for more experienced guitarists though.
Not Necessarily for Beginners... but

Anyone who is willing to sit down and talk with you to give ANY tips for ANY amount of time should be thanked. These do a good job, and you can watch on your own schedule. Good tips are given, BUT as usual, learning to solo takes hours upon hours of work by the guitarist. This will help get you there!

Perhaps this particular app wasn't designed for fledglings who have just picked up the instrument for the first time (they should direct their attention to the Beginners Guitar Lessons app), but it is a terrific app for that middle-of-the-road types who really want to expand their knowledge and capabilities with then guitar. I think even the most advanced players wouldn't mind at least brushing up on some of the lessons you'll find here. And to top it off, it's bloody FREE!

This is not for beginners so if you are looking for an app that teaches you how to play the guitar download beginner guitar it helps a lot

There are many beginner apps out there but not many like this one for "middle-of-the-road players" as another reviewer put it. Love it. Thanks man!

I didn't know any scales until this app. It is good for teaching some of the basics to soloing. He is able to go slow and explain it good enough to understand quickly. My issue was he expects the viewer to know a few things, like a certain scale that I had not seen before. He does this in the first lesson video. My next issue is randomly in the lesson he goes off doing his own solo. I'm trying to follow his fingers trying to learn the scale, and then I loose it when he suddenly shoots off into a completely different solo.
