Not for iPad or adults

I only got to pay 1 game and now I have to pay .99 cents again??? Or am I doing it wrong? I wanted something to p,at on a plane but this game doesn’t rotate which tells me it was meant for phone only. If you are an adult I don’t think you will like this game.

One of the best.
In5omniak

This game is easily among the best games on the store. Took me years to get to the point where I can win often. So addictive and well done. The new single energy classes are so much harder than the originals... be warned.

Okay... but not great

Here are my thoughts: Even with the advertised “randomization” that occurs, every play through has the same enemies in the same order with the same attacks. I don’t mind having a small pool of enemies, but seeing the same introductory dialogue, using the same strategy, and seeing the same attacks over and over becomes tiring. There are better ways to use “randomization”. FTL was successful with it and so was Crypt of the NecroDancer. They randomized the right things — that’s why those games are so good. So expect lots of repetition. This game is, surprisingly, a grind. The sounds and music aren’t immersive, if that’s something that might bother you. Both FTL and CoND’s soundtracks were beautiful. Granted, this takes a different style than those two games, but the soundtrack is short and annoying. If you are just starting in the card genre, you might want to look elsewhere. Look into Meteorfall or a game where you see more action happening. This is solitaire with a thin coat of rpg on top. It’s bare, and it’s dry. If you want solitaire with just a little pizazz? Great! Go for it! But I guess I’m used to more action, so I expected more action from the game, perhaps some animation of actually fighting the enemies or something. That’s a me-not-you thing for the developers though, and a warning to future players. Progress is steady at the start, and then at some point, you come to the same point over and over without that progress. This was the same in NecroDancer, but I persisted because each game felt refreshing. Each game of Solitairica didn’t feel refreshing to me, it felt like it was getting more and more stale. However. Despite my criticism, I do appreciate the clean graphics and amount of content possible for the game. I think if you liked the gameplay, the amount of content here is well worth full price. But you have to LIKE the gameplay first... enough to grind for a long time. Because while there ARE permanent upgrades in the game, they take some grinding to get to. IN CONCLUSION: Make sure you LIKE the gameplay before purchasing!

Excellent
ThorionThatNicknameIsTaken

The strategy to this game comes from power usage. Optimizing when to attack and when to get a wildcard for the biggest streak you can, while stunning and defending and healing up is so satisfying. I bought the $1 DLC that added 4 extra classes, and I love them all except the Barbarian. The first class I was able to win with was the Vanguard. The Monk is prolly my favorite class, although the Acrobat and Sorcerer are both excellent as well. When I play Monk, I can sometimes keep the enemy stunned for the entire battle with Counterpunch while I mop up the board with wild cards. With the Sorcerer and Wizard, I can deal so much burst damage all at once that the board is cleared before the enemy has started to be a threat. I’ve found the biggest impeding condition an enemy card can have is Armored, unless you get lucky and have two adjacent Armored cards like a J and a Q. I’ve lost more runs just from bad card draw than anything else, but even a bad run gets you some gems that you can use to buy MASSIVE bonuses. For most classes, the K and A upgrade are by far the most useful. I haven’t been able to finish a run yet without at least 2 card upgrades and usually also at least 1 extra inventory slot. I haven’t beaten an epic run yet, and I’ve beaten Normal with about half the classes. This game has replaced Dream Quest as the game that I play every single day for at least an hour or two. I would love to see some more classes with new mechanics, and I’d happily pay more money for them. Or a new game from this studio.

RNG heavy, but in a good way!
HarryThe5th

This game is awesome. Yes it relies heavily on RNG, but to say there’s no strategy to it is bonkers. The great thing is that there are so MANY types of strategies depending on your deck and which upgrades you’re given the chance to buy with your match winnings. The more adaptable you are, the better the game becomes! The randomness of the cards is the whole point! Just like... I dunno... solitaire. I’m always challenged by this game and I love it. It’s a totally fresh spin on solitaire. I’ve been playing it for months now and I still never get bored. Worth it for the solitaire fan looking for a twist!

Well worth the 99 cents to unlock
BadArtist

I have spent so many hours playing this game and have been telling my friends to buy it. I'm kind of hoping there will be an expansion with new cards for each class or more classes or something. Here's hoping my 99 cents helps the developers make more games like this.

Fix cloud saves!
Ztstrickland

Progress between my iPad and iPhone is super behind and I’ve deleted and reinstalled the apps and everything. Nothing will work.

Slay the Spire meets Fairway Golf
Oowwaa

The subject says it all, if you enjoy both styles you will enjoy this game.

Poorly developed
williewonkerz

It’s so artificially difficult, many games predestined for you to lose regardless of strategy. Don’t waste your time

Fun, but irritating.
Wadatah

As others have pointed out, the worst enemy in the game is the Random Numbers God. You can have a great run, only to watch it disappear completely because you can’t do anything for five or six turns. It would be a lot more fun without that element of taking a bunch of shots with no recourse.
