Lots of simple "just tilt your phone" games bore me within seconds, but I enjoyed this one from the start and find myself pulling it out for a quick surf (or 3) over and over. Recommended!
The gravity slingshot movement is smooth and has the feel of surfing (you might find yourself literally moving your body as you play). The corona bonus points taunt you to surf dangerously close to the sun's surface.
At first I didn't know how to earn points. I wanted to go straight into the color dots. Aaaah - you have to "surf" around the most center ones without getting snagged by a "riptide." Ok cool so now I'm a daredevil pushing my luck in all kinds of ways. Just got a 500 point surf but want to do better! It's a zen quality and a nice bedtime game or while you're with baby game. Like moving the phone around without feeling worried because its not frenetic
The visuals are spare and pleasing, the sounds pleasantly ambient, and the play is a reminder of how satisfying a nice game mechanic can be.
My golly, this game is so fun. Moving the little spaceship guy is so satisfying... The controls are tight and really well made. The music is gorgeous and really fits the mood, not to mention the aesthetic is pleasing, to say the very, very least. The only thing I dislike is the fact that it'll make you dizzy. I guess it's a bit TOO swingy.. I get a bit disoriented if I play it before sleeping. But I guess there not much to do about it without making it less appealing. So, this game is beautifully well-crafted and really fun to play!
