The major difference from the battleship board game is that, the players select more than one target in each turn, depending on the number of ships they have left. This feature adds strategy factor to the game, so playing against computer player also becomes challenging.
SNC is played with a larger grid. The ships are different in shapes and sizes and can be rotated and placed in different orientations including diagonally.

Just picked this up today. I did get it on a promo code, but i still would have paid the $2 for it. Classic Battleship with animation. You can play against the CPU or a friend. Choose the positions for your ships, then try to sink the enemys ships by clicking on the little squares on the grid. You get nine shots to start off to fire on each turn. As you miss, that number of shots go down. When you've selected all your spots to aim for, there's a nice animation showing a battlehip on water firing all your rounds. When you score a hit, you hear an explosion and the little picture of the ship (on the right hand side of your screen)you hit will explode in a fireball. When you sink it, you actually see an animation of it sinking and a little life ring replaces where the ship was. Much better than another battleship game i've played from here. The CPU isn't so dumb that it's easy to beat. But it's also not so rediculously smart that you cant win like that other Battleship App i played. It plays intelligently. If it scores a hit, it will then concentrate all it's next rounds on that one area to try to sink you. I played 3 times, and beat it twice, CPU won one game. Very well implemented and thought out version on an old classic. It's still the same old Battleship, with a fresh coat of paint that doesnt ruin the old classic one little bit. Five stars all the way. LIke i said, i would've bought this in a heartbeat at $2. If you've always enjoyed this game from your childhhod days of the little plastic pieces in those red and blue cases, then do yourse;f a favor and get this game.

Very high production value, even has animations for the shots fired. You start out with 9 shots at the enemy board, and this number decreases as you lose ships, makes the game very interesting. It's very satisfying to crush the AI; it's pretty smart in that if it finds a ship of yours, it will keep pounding away at it until it's gone. Fun little animations, especially when you win. Only suggestion i could think of would be the ability to skip the firing animation (for quick games) Overall, definitely worth $2, and certainly take the time to play this, especially if you're a Battleships fan!

Certainly one of the better Battleship options available in the app store. Multiple shots selected prior to taking your turn is a cool feature. Would like option to skip firing animation, but not a huge deal. Would also like the option to only allow one shot per turn, which is how I'm used to playing. Otherwise, it's worth the $2 for what you're getting.

This Is A Very Good Battleship Game And Is Very Simple. You Pick 9 Points on The board To Shoot At, Then The Game Goes Into An Animation Of The Gun Firing(an Option To Skip This Would Be Nice) And If You Hit a Ship an Explosion , As You Eliminate Enemy ships You Get Less Shots Per Turn Which I Guess Helps Keep The Game Fair. It's A Good Version Of Battleship And If You're Looking For A Battleship App I would Definatly Recommend Picking This One Up.

This is a fun game to play, and with a few adjustments, I would give it 5 out of 5 stars. Pros: nice graffics, layout and design. The computer is not too predictable and puts up a worthy fight. Cons: the animated firing does get a bit monotonous... It would be nice if there were an option to bypass it and see what ships you hit. Secondly, the 2 player mode does not allow for 2 people on seperate phones to play against one another via Bluetooth or Wifi... If these were fixed I would definately give it 5 out of 5 stars! Overall, it's a fun game.

This game is very similar to the original board game except you get more shots each turn which makes the game move faster. I am hooked since I downloaded it. I haven't played against a friend yet but it's fun trying to beat the computer

I really wanted to like this game. It was easier to play against the CPU then a friend. We could not figure out who was up and who was sinking the opponents ship. When I came to iTunes to hopefully get more instructions I clicked on the support button whick took me to a webpage with no clickable items. I'll check back in a few days to see if I can finally figure this out.
I'll give it 5 stars when and if....

I like the app but after a few days of playing you get bored. Would be nice to have the option to play online against real ppl =). Also if you could add a skip button for the firing animation that would be great =). Other than that it's a good game if you enjoy playing battle ship.
