I really want to like this app... the effect is great, and the animations and attention to detail are well done, but at 638 pixels wide there isn't much I can do with these images. It's just too low res to recommend to others. .. Read all my reviews on crosswa.lk ..

The gold standard in stippling

I love this app and the effect it produces. In fact, it's based on the research that computer graphics researchers use as their stippling benchmark. The interface is simple and well-designed.

INLOVE

With this app. Seriously. In love. So well designed with no bugs to speak of from my use. Easy to use and keeps me entertained well beyond any other photo editing app. Recommended

The developers have been very responsive. SnapDot now supports high resolution output! I'm impressed that stippling has been brought to my phone and done so well.

A great (fun) App

This app is fabulous for the photo 'wow factor'. I have purchased at least 10 various apps for photo manipulation and this is by far my favorite. Every time I post one of my snapshot pictures on my social networking sites the 'likes' and comments come flooding in. All I can say is Buy This App!

Dots on the move

The coolest thing about this app is that you watch the dots arrange themselves according to how you move one of three sliders. The dots move, change size , and become more or less saturated. You can have a white background or a paper background. It's very hypnotic. I learned about it from a David Pogue post. I have only had it one day but have been playing with it for 4 hours non stop. The resolution is not too bad. I am getting 2048 x 1595. I am using this on the iPod touch. THe slider controls do cover up almost one third of your photo at the bottom so you have to go back and forth checking to see what the whole picture looks like as you tweak the adjustments, but I don't find that to be much of a problem. There is a pencil tool to do fine adjustments. Not really sure how that works. All in all a fun worthwhile beautifully entertaining app. A well spent 99 cents.

Pure Pixel Bliss!

I wish I could give this app six stars. As the owner of hundreds of graphics apps (no kidding, it's my addiction) I have only run across a few that have given me pure visual joy like this one. It's mesmerizing to see the dots position themselves as you make adjustments to dot size, number, and contrast, and the results blow me away. If you are choosing between this and other stippling apps in the app store you can stop looking and just hit the BUY button, because I've tried them all and this wins hands-down. You won't be disappointed.
