My son and I watched the blu ray then we watched it using smurf-o-vision. It was so awesome! We really had an enjoyable afternoon! It was a great way to introduce my favorite childhood cartoon to my little boy!

My daughter (7) and I (techie geek) were both very excited by the idea of interacting with the Smurfs via a second screen...& HAD TO download this app. What a fabulous concept! Unfortunately, I think it's fair to say that this idea is going to need a bit of further development before it's really going to take off. First- both my 7 y/o and I found this app to be more of a distractor than an enhancer of the movie experience. Many movie scenes were unexpectedly pushed to the background while one of the actors chatted about the characters (very frustrating for a 7 y/o)... And what was happening on the iPad/Smurf-o-vision wasn't always relevant to the movie. Second- rather than coming up with fresh ideas, many of the same interactions are re-used...I.e.Zapping Gargamel, Azreal's paws- again, not always relevant. On the plus side- syncing instructions were clear and easy to follow. Like I said- awesome concept, and the best interactive scene (in our opinion) was when Clumsy fell into the toilet (in the movie) and the iPad showed him under water. Cute- creative- simple. More bits like this, and you have a winner. So...I give three stars...keeping in mind that the app is free, it is easy to use and the concept is there....but, unfortunately not enough to keep neither my daughter nor I engaged.
