This is one my favorite social media apps

I definitely enjoy the idea of this app as a competitive Smash 4 player. I downloaded this thinking I would enjoy civil conversations with people in the Smash community, because that’s how most people in this community are. But the players who get on this app are the most toxic people imaginable. You aren’t allowed to have opinions or have conversations with people. The Smash Amino community is painting a bad image of the Smash community. It’s not the apps’ fault or anything they can fix. I just warn you to go to local tournaments or online tournaments to get to know people in the Smash community. They’re much nicer and less toxic than the people on this app.

Well designed, but poor community

This app is a very good idea on paper. I loved the idea of making blogs and sharing opinions with the community, and this app executes it very well. The only problem is that the community is incredibly toxic, and is always either too lenient with poorly supported opinions (too stubborn to accept changes in the meta, they’re sometimes sorta behind) or they hate on the person too much (beat up the person for being wrong instead of actually fixing it). If this app had a better community then it could even be five stars because of how well the design is, but the poor community makes me feel like this could be as low as a two star. This is coming from someone who used to be one of the most popular users on amino (not going to share my identity in case they try to witchhunt me), so I am saying this from experience. If you are an experienced smasher, maybe you can come here and shed light and facts to newer users. But if you’re a new user, smash amino’s not the best place to try and improve. You’ll walk back either as a weaker player or a stronger player whose practice was held back by bad members condemning you for no reason
