Smart Trigger is an advanced DSLR camera shutter release app which can be used to release camera shutter, as well as to be programmed to run timed photography task, etc. Delay the starting moment, manage exposure time, set shooting interval or organize numbers of shots. It allows you to control camera shutter up to 50 ft away from a compatible DSLR camera.

Using Bluetooth technology to link your DSLR camera to your smart phone, the Smart Trigger allows for precise control of your pictures with three different shooting modes:

Regular Shot mode allows your smart phone to act as a wireless shutter for your camera. Simply touch the button on your smart phone to capture a picture – perfect for including the photographer in group shots!

Manual Shot mode allows you to take long exposures in bulb mode. Featuring a focus button and a shutter lock, use Manual Shot for photographic techniques like star trails and light painting.

Timed Shot mode converts your smart phone to a full-featured intervalometer. Use this mode to perform advanced photography techniques like time-lapses.

Works like a charm

Works great with Canon 6D and the Bluetooth adapter. I have used it several times and it works all the time. Love the features and range.

Works great… waiting for iOS 6 update though!

Works really well, and connects to the bt device every time! Only thing I'd can think of that it needs is an update to full screen for iOS 6. Do that, and this app, combined with the bluetooth adapter are close to perfect!

Just ok so far w/t4i

Two simplest modes work well, but I am taking photos to make time lapse videos. I am using the timed shot function and its set to fire off a 4 second exposure with three seconds between photos. The actual photos that are being taken are each getting exposed for between 3 and 5 seconds instead. Each is different, and so my videos look weird and flickery. Batteries only lasted 3 months before I had to change them... Not 10 years.

Not Up to Satechi Standards
1NcaNon

I bought this for use on a Nikon D7000. It was not up to what I have seen with other products from Satechi. I could not get the device to pair with my iPhone 4. I worked with tech support's help and never could get it to where I could use it. I went back to my wireless Satechi which I really like. My only complaint with anything that plugs into the side of a Nikon is how vulnerable they are to damage.

Could use some improvements
Rene Velasquez

Overall it is a decent app. Once you pair the device with the iPhone it works ok in the first two modes. However the Manual mode could do with some improvements. Like other users, when I am doing time lapse photography I find that the intervalometer lacks accuracy. The delays tend to be irregular even when set to a 1s delay (sometimes 2, 3 sec), and sometimes not firing at all. I suspect this has to do with the Bluetooth connection and noise in busy areas. This is especially frustrating when doing time lapse photography during the day. It would also be great if the smallest delay could be less than 1s. Satechi please update this app and improve the connection/signal as well as the functionality.

Never worked
GFR27

I bought a Smart Trigger and downloaded the app — both before and after the update for iOS 9. The app never recognized the device. I tried multiple times. So I returned it. Satechi was very responsive initially to my difficulty and then to my request to return.
