All you get is a volume and channel function. If you want the smart tv functions it's 4 bucks. What a joke! I hope no one supports this app.

I purchased the additional features to use with my tv. The app worked great for a few months. But now, without explanation, just stopped working.

...because to get your device paired with the TV, you have to make the TV send an "Accept" signal... which requires a working TV remote! Frustrating. If instead the TV did something like display a code to be typed into your device, the pairing could happen without a working TV remote.

Every other one of the Apps that I’ve downloaded to try to use with my LGtv (smart TV) has been hopeless in one way or another. They’re always either missing some major feature, without which it can’t function as a replacement remote—or the *replacement remote* app (frequently utilized in the absence of a user’s regular remote) will require, for example, the user to authorize it for use with their LGtv by scrolling over, selecting “yes”, and then pressing “enter” using the *regular remote*... . I had no reason to think this one would be any different—but this one worked flawlessly from the first go. It has a simple, easy-to-use layout similar to the LGtv Magic remotes for the 2016/17 models. Yes, you do have to pay the 3.99 for this to really work as a fully functioning app, but I paid the same or more to upgrade with other LGtv remote apps and ended up with no where close to a fully functional remote. Highly recommended!!
No just not
Why do I have to pay for an 'OK' button? What's the point of the app? Most redundant on the App Store.

The app can become a little slow at times and not register the touches. I’ve always had issues with it unconnecting from the TV while using. But overall it has everything you could need to work the TV.

Sadly, there’s no way to change picture modes, aspect ratios, or tweak tint, color, brightness and other video settings. And, the remote is virtually useless while an LG TV is receiving a feed from an AVR via HDMI. It will not, for instance, allow you to change inputs, or jump to LG’s apps or antenna input. Still, it’s called a “Smart Remote” when it’s been tragically dumbed-down.
