It’s great

Tiarajan

Love it and glad I can watch it on my phone. Just wish they had CBS and MSNBC.

Latest 5.5 update will not open on apple devices!!!!!!!

Bshow27

This latest update will cause the app to crash immediately upon opening on all apple devices. If you want to keep watching don't use this recent update that was available on 7/18/18!

Very crap customer service and liars ! They don’t cancel accounts easily and also they promise service and then don’t broadcast. World Cup soccer chAnnels were horrible and no IPL. Waste of money !

Terrible on Apple TV 4K

The application needs some major reworking to fix the streaming issues. It constantly locks up on our Apple TV where it works just fine on our Roku 4K and Samsung TV. The picture even looks better when streaming through the Roku and Samsung directly.

Apple TV!! Broken!! Edit: fixed....

Slingersgonewild

Will not work with the current OS12 version for Apple TV. The app is, shall we say, less than optimal, when it does work. Please fix this, I mean really guys. Edit: So apparently it just doesn't work with unreleased software and I just had to roll back my apple TV to 11.4. However, a myriad of programming is still has its fair share of bugs so the one star will remain.

I love the app

Please get more channels!!

Don’t waste your time.

Blasted out of my chair

We subscribed hoping that we could pay for the channels we watch without having to pay for useless packages but it doesn’t work that way. There are commercials just like regular cable. The on demand shows never have a complete season and the pilot episodes are rarely available (for the shows we watch anyway). We are basically paying what we would for regular cable and don’t have full access to on demand shows. We are paying for channels we don’t watch. The shows we do watch constantly buffer and we have 179 mbps with no other streaming apps behaving this way on any of our 9 devices.

service interruption

The service drops sometimes

UPDATED: A Work In Progress; Now Way Behind Competitors

Balzac

UPDATED: Now rated at ONE Star since it does not work with the latest tvOS version or iOS12 Beta on the iPhone and intermittently fails to load with iOS 11.4.1 on iPads. Customer Service acknowledges these problems to be “known problems” and “escalates” the problem to the Engineering staff; when pressed, Customer Service states there isn’t any known timeline for a solution (these problems have been ongoing for 3 weeks) and that Accounting *may* offer a credit for the downtime once that the problems have been fixed by Sling. UPDATED: Now rated at Five Stars for a very stable app performance with a very reliable streaming service. As to the app, the User Interface, while far from being innovative, becomes easier to navigate with continued use. As to the service, the startup hiccups have been cured and is now a reliable alternative to and greater value than traditional cable/satellite services. *** UPDATED: Buffering problems are history and reliable streaming is the standard of the day, day after day and at anytime of the day. Truly a reliable live streaming option to cable and satellite services. Updated to four stars. *** Using the App for the trial service on an iPhone 6S, an iPad 4th generation, an iPad Pro, and both the 32GB and the 64GB Apple TV fourth generation models was an exercise with more pleasure than pain. The devices with the Sling TV App were connected by 5.0Ghz WiFi at ~200Mbs. The Sling TV App works just fine. The streaming service needs greater reliability. The App UI is not particularly slick or especially innovative, but it is functional, becomes familiar to use in no time at all, and does have some nice options for previewing the current and upcoming schedule without leaving the program being currently watched. The Sling TV service delivering the content stream is either rock solid or an on again, off again, on again, off again buffering interrupting annoyance. Most of the time, the performance is solid; during those times that the streaming is interrupted, it is frustrating beyond common patience. Having "cut the cord" in 2006 and then easing into paying for Netflix and Hulu as those services evolved, adding Sling TV as an additional paid entertainment service for more television choices wasn't a quick decision and I watched far more programming during the trial period than I normally would in order to give the App and accompanying service a good workout. Sling TV offers a good choice of networks; most of the same networks which I would've selected à la carte if the cable monopolies allowed such an option. I'll manage through the occasional frustrating interruption and stay with the Sling TV as it continues to more fully develop.

Great when it works.

Sling TV is great when it works. Lately it’s been disconnecting randomly from my chromecast, which is annoying. Or if I try to rewind a recording, sometimes it’ll start playing from the beginning instead of the point I want it to.
