FEATURED ON ITUNES - WHAT WE'RE PLAYING
RANKED NO. 5 FOR 4 MONTHS UNDER EDUCATIONAL GAMES

If you want something fun, educational and interesting that could actually make you smarter…

…if you love to read, but don’t have time for ebooks, or ibooks, or real books…

...SLEUTH, "The World’s First interactive, educational ebook game!!!" (tm). If you love Lumosity (tm), you'll love SLEUTH!

The main focus of Sleuth is on EDUCATION so a lot of the stories are designed to teach a part of history. Some "fun" stories have been added, and future stories will have much harder to decipher clues.

Use Sleuth, the Mystery game to:
-Entertain yourself with professionally written, editor approved, 5 Minute mysteries,
-Learn something about history,
-Improve problem solving techniques,
-Enhance critical thinking skills,
-Strengthen deductive reasoning and research ability,
-Sharpen your attentive listening, reading comprehension, communication and leadership skills,
-Or simply kill time waiting on the train, for the doctor, on the beach...

Each "Case File" includes:
-The main story written by real mystery writers, with a narration that usually ends with “I know who…”
-Four (4) to Six (6) clue sentences hidden throughout the story, but made available in the Clues page to help you out.
-The wheel of three (3) to five (5) suspects for you to spin and take a crack at solving the mystery.
-The final solution to the story to read, but only if you choose the right suspect! If you get it wrong, your friends will laugh at you, your spouse will leave you and you will loose your job. Ok… none of that will happen, but why risk it!?!?
-Once a story is unlocked, you are given not only "the rest of the story", but additional explanations of each clue are unlocked as well.
-Ability to Re-lock all of the stories to hide the solution and clue explanations. Now you can challenge your family and friends!

Reviews

Good idea, bad mysteries
Captain Squishy

This is a great idea for an app, but the mysteries that come with it aren't very good. They are free though, so you might as well give it a shot and see if you like it... I loved encyclopedia brown as a kid, so I would love to see this app with mysteries of that quality. Ideas for improvement (besides better writers): • If you guess incorrectly, it should give you the reason that person is innocent • Pictures with the stories • Have mysteries of various difficulties (and openly rate them as such)

Clue On The Go
Steventually

I purchased the full version as it's a great way to pass time! I used it while waiting on the Dentist and on my rides to work. Solved a few puzzles. Love this stuff! The stories are very well done, and hard to solve. Much better than the old paper version of this! Great job!

Hard to complain if it's free but...
Dunno source

I wouldn't pay for the full version of this app. Obviously, unless there is a large supply of mysteries, the app will get old very quickly as there is no replayability. Also, the writing is definitely lacking. I understand the stories are meant to be simple and easy to process, but that doesn't mean they have to sound amateurish. One of my biggest pet peeves, starting two closely placed sentences with the same temporal phrase, occured in one story ("By now..." was the offending phrase). This made it seem very childlike (think of a grade-schooler writing "And then.." over and over). Additionally, there may be a technical issue with the clues, as they didn't work as they were portrayed in the tutorial. If you look at the clues before solving, it doesn't just direct you to the applicable sentence, it gives the full explanation, and there are no buttons at the bottom to switch from clue to explanation (or vice versa). Lastly, the scroll wheel selector for the solve option would be much better if it did not spin endlessly, repeating the names. With such short stories, the names tend to run together, and as you are trying to place characters with names to formulate your guess, it gets a tad confusing. Overall, I think this is a good concept that was just poorly executed. I only tried the free version, so I don't know how many total stories are/will be available, and I don't know whether there are different writers for these other stories. However the level of quality represented by this version certainly does not indicate any reason for me to purchase a full version.

Spelling and grammar a distraction
Juliebop

A couple of other reviewers mentioned the amateurish writing. I found the rampant spelling and grammatical errors to be so distracting I couldn't take any part of this game seriously. I'm not talking about the occasional flub either. It felt like there was an error in every sentence. Surely one of these guys has at least one friend who can spell.

Nothing at all
Routine Again

I downloaded this app to find nothing in it. Just empty pages. Thinking it was a downloading error I downloaded it twice more. Both times to find nothing to do. I use a compatible device and meet all the requirements so I am afraid I have no explanation why I have no game. I would not recommend this app.

Empty
Personal Identity is Secret

There was literally nothing but empty pages.

Terrible
No Stories :(

I have a supported iOS and device, and I have downloaded this app several times now. It still comes with no unsolved mysteries. Pls fix Alex, I played this a while back and it was very fun

Doesn't work.
Phyllisosophy

Similar to what I've read from other reviewers it won't load. I just see a bunch of blank pages and I can't even access the stories

Fail.
Mandechuva

After downloading I opened aforementioned app to discover that there were no options or cases available. Deleted and reinstalled to the same effect.
