SLC: Anatomy and Physiology

We had fun creating this app for a high school biology teacher. It introduces students to the enzymes and structures encountered when learning about anatomy and physiology. Students explore the sensory roles of the eye and ear, and the skeletal, digestive and circulatory systems. This version also introduces them to the fundamentals of the brain and neurons.

Education $2.99 Panafold iPad

Students practice and learn vocabulary while they see their key course terms appear in current articles about chemical and mechanical digestion, organ function, circulatory flow, anatomical structures, and physiology. Once students complete a word pack, they reflect on “What concepts did I learn relating to anatomy and physiology?” and solve a Common Core influenced “challenge” such as “How does this system help maintain stable internal conditions?”

This app is part of a suite of Panafold products. Your school may also like Macbeth: Shakespeare’s play through Elizabethan theater and vocabulary, Power of Words SAT (SAT and Critical Reading vocabulary), or Introduction to Plant Biology (fundamentals of heredity, genetics, and plant structure).  Visit panafold.com/educators to learn how to order a custom app or iBook with your own humanities or STEM curriculum.

Reviews

Rich visuals, intuitive interaction
Nickk N.

This is a perfectly matched subject for Panafold's approach. It's unusually creative and visually rich, a pleasure to use, and makes learning fun! In addition to learning biology, it's an outstanding example of great design.

Fun learning app!
Belugacat

This app is really fun to learn with; it really takes advantage of the iPad's capabilities and makes learning for your biology a real pleasure!

Showcases Versatility of Panafold Customizations
Word_Nerd_

This is one of the first apps Panafold has customized for a STEM classroom. The well-curated visuals and sources reward the user for completing lessons correctly. This format works well for learning key terms in context, regardless of the subject.

Great Interface
DuOgJeg

I think the literally hands-on interaction promotes learning and retention of information/knowledge.

Not good
Earth crash

This app appeared like a great app to review but it's very vague. It does not really go anywhere in depth

Huge disappointment
Lauren2403

I thought this app would have a lot more to it. I cannot even swipe to the next "slide" like it says I can. Waste of $2.99... Nothing happens when I click on the pin points as well... I would like my money back please.

Good new material, easy to memorize

The circulatory system is especially useful. To the reviewer with problems with the touch interface: hit NEXT if a 2-finger swipe is hard. If the iPad is bogged down, touch a word box for longer. The pins aren't interactive.
