Why is this app better than all others? First of all, the tech support is unbeatable. They constantly monitor our comments and respond almost immediately. Forget your hand controler because SkySasfari does it all: alignment, observing lists, pictures and detailed comments of objects and unbelievable amounts of data on each object, The help section includes the equivalent of an astronomy text book, links to astro sights and local astro events. It is also linked to S&T's SkyWeek app. I attach my iPad to my music stand and watch the sky move in front of me as my scope slews to its location. Passersby are always fascinated with what they see and conversations generally follow. It is also a crowd pleaser for public astronomy events. It is easy to use even though it is complex in what it can do. Without this app your astronomy app collection is definitely incomplete.

Can't sat enough good about this app. So stable and has never failed me when I needed detailed data on any astronomical object. Great for star parties too, helps orient people to the sky!

I have used this app for 2 now and it is excellent. On cloudy nights I sit and add objects to my favorites list so that I have targets to look for next time I'm out with the scope. With the comprehensive data base you have years worth of observations and information at your finger tips. I connect it to my astrophoto rig and locate and frame DSO's. I can see in real time how the scope and camera need to be positioned to get the best shot. It is so much easier to use than the hand controller. I could write a 10 page review on how much I love this app and its features. If you are thinking about it, go ahead and get it.

I began to study how to use the logging features on Sky Safari Pro 4 more than on the 3 version. However, I like the display options and settings better on 4. It is a great astronomy program!!
