High Standards for iPhone

The bar for iOS simulators has been set by X-Plane. As a desk top simulator enthusiast, realistic graphics and flight dynamics are hard to come by and at best, most are interesting arcade games for time spent on the toilet or in a waiting room. I’m not saying this sim is high realism but it beats 99% of what’s out there for hand held. The graphics are outstanding and the story/atmosphere make for a beautiful experience. The flight dynamics (I have flight experience limited to GA) are close to what is known of the aircraft types. I appreciate that the experience gained by the player is reflected in the AI. The “story” adds a lot and the variety of aircraft and skins is nice for a very reasonable price. I would like views other than straight ahead though the markers help with situational awareness. But being able to look across the wings as you turn on to your next target would push the experience into the next level. Looking down to scan your gauges while on your way to or from the fight would be perfection. Also, starting a mission at the aerodrome and/or returning to home base would really add to the immersion factor as well as another level of challenge. Free flight or a custom mission engine would place this sim way out front. Bottom line, most “sims” available for mobile devices are Candy Crush with airplanes. This is more enjoyable than any other sim I’ve tried unless I’m in the mood for a quick study level flight, then it’s X-Plane Mobile. I like this sim for what it is. A few more developments and it could be the Rise of Flight for iOS but as it is, it’s worth the price.

Fun, but...lame

I have to keep repeating the same scenario over and over even though I win every time. It seems one can’t progress in this game. Too bad, it had sone potential

Great game

A great game but the side view mentioned by others would be a good improvement as well as a wide view option that lets you see the whole plane flying. Otherwise a decent game. Can’t get past mission 23. It is mission impossible.

Awesome game!

Thanks for a beautiful game! As a colorblind person, I have great trouble distinguishing the circles of friend and foe. Could you change one to squares? Thanks and best greetings!

Great game!

It only took a few minutes to get the hang of it. Lots of fun!
