* Calculating Army cost
* Deciding on units to counter enemy builds
* Simulating battle matchups to help you improve
* Quick referencing SC2 units
Currently the simulator models:
* Movement speed
* Multiple attacks from the same unit
* HP/Shields/Armor calculations
* Bonuses versus light/biological/massive/armored/etc
* Splash Damage
It has been tested using the Starcraft 2 Unit tester map and battle results are pretty close.
This free version limits you so that you can only select up to 4 units of each type max, and the total army size for each team cannot exceed 750 minerals/gas. You can upgrade to the pro version from within the App to remove this limitation.

When I have SC2 on my mind but can't load up BlizzardNet, this helps curb my cravings. I think adding some primitive graphics (moving art but no animation across a x-ygrid) could make it more fun to use, but as is it's pretty informational.
The app doesn't take things like splash damage into account. This has been tested, as best as I can tell, only for 1 on 1 matches. A more sophisticates engine that simulated units in 2 dimensions (for calculations, not visually, of course) would be much better. Even the horribly limited army features will be grossly inaccurate most of the time. A simple and important test, like seeing how well a queen could fend off a banshee, is broken because the simulator doesn't know queens have anti air. I'd love an app like this, but it needs a lot of work and a totally redone engine.
There is a custom game map "unit test map" where you can factor in, spells, splash, and common upgrades. Sure this is a lot more time spent loading up Starcraft and searching for the map. But it is 100% accurate.
I don't see much future for the app as it needs a complete overhaul from the ground up. Not only is it inaccurate 99% of the time it's fairly cumbersome and doesn't really offer much.
4 is the maximum number of units it who'd let you simulate, not accurate this is not just a waist of your time is a scam, do not download worthless not good theft of your time and attention. who ever put this out review your self before you put such a garbage pice of trash like this on the app store .
So I tested 3 dark Templars against as many marines as it would let me and the marines won, which is impossible because try can't see the dts. App doesnt include much of what would happen in a real game even down to a 1v1. The max resource limit is 750 on the app allowing about 5-10 troops per team drowning on what u get. All I have to say is ultra fail
