Tried a free ad blocker that did not seem to do much. This one was listed in Appadvice and definitely works for me. The searching speed is really quick and the lack of annoying advertisements is well worth the few dollars.
Works 99% of the time

Like the title says, it works great 99% of the time, but sometimes it blocks flash ran photos that are part of a website, that I am assuming the blocker thinks are ads. It happens but is rare. I would buy again.

The developer of this app is very responsive and committed to improve this already great content blocker. This developer deserves your support. It has a great UI and lots of useful features, including customized whitelisting. It blocks sponsored ads as well. Wonderful and well done app!

This app has been great from the moment I installed it. The interface is simple, but works as advertised and I haven't had any complaints at all. I've tried multiple ad blockers and this has been the best one of them all. The recent update to the app which enables remote updating was a great and handy feature. Keep up the great work!
Don't Waste Your Money…Too Many Bugs!

This app breaks the basic functionality of too many websites that function perfectly with other content blockers. I experimentally tried whitelisting the images and scripts on one of those sites (it didn't work), and discovered another serious bug—once a site is added to the whitelist, there appears to be no means to delete it from said list. Using the "Restore Default Configuration" button does not remove it; neither does deleting and reinstalling the entire app. I have permanently uninstalled Silentium from my iPad and will be requesting a refund from Apple.

In-app update sometimes glitches until shut down. 4 star 1Blocker: removes ad space, doesn't block sponsored links, blocks social media buttons, no white list. 4 Crystal: removes ad space, blocks sponsored links, doesn't block social media buttons, no white list. 5 star. Purify: removes ad space, doesn't block sponsored links, blocks social media buttons, has white list. 5 star Silentium: removes ad space, blocks sponsored links, blocks social media buttons, has white list. 5 star, current favorite. Issue with previous version has been fixed!
