Used to be “Easy Simple Fast” But No More

My previous review was, “Super app, been using it for years.” This last update has changed that. It’s now slow and somewhat cryptic. When I launch the app it’s locked up for a few seconds and I’m staring at an old version of my list. After a moment it updates but that lag is really annoying. I guess the app is syncing with a server but why am I looking at an old version of my list? It seems inexplicable. I find the new user interface to be more cluttered and harder to use. It’s a free app and I do really appreciate the developer sharing it with the community. I hope a future update will resolve the issues.

Like other reviewers, the latest design is a step backwards. There is now no way (as was previously) to remove a mistakenly created item from the history; forever making it too easy to add the bad entry (until 200 newer items are created, which could be years). The cause appears to be the redesign of the history to be on a sliding panel rather than another page (That was also a minor regression). I guess it's difficult to make the list editable there. Avoid "featuritis" Anyway it WAS three best and simplest grocery shopping list, giving four stars in hopes that the Edit feature on history is restored. Or some other way, like a long press contex menu.
Fix this nonsense!

Put it back to the way it was! I can not scroll down to the bottom of my list to move items around. Please, this app was so amazing and easy to use which is what I needed while shopping with young children; meaning I’m too distracted and busy to fuss with changes in an app that worked flawlessly before. Please make it work like it did before, this new nonsense is unnecessary and frustrating! FIX IT!

Why did you try to fix something that was not broken. The prevent sleep setting doesn’t work anymore. Please fix. Well, you screwed it up with no fix so you’ve lost me. You’ve been deleted. Bye ?

Why in the world would you take something that was literally a GREAT app and change it. 90% of the time I cannot see the last 5/10 items on my list so I have to restart the whole app. What used to be a 5 Star app is now a 2 Star app. All the changes are frustrating and confusing....go back to how you were! 5 stars would be great, wouldn’t it!!??

I hate the new update. When my list is long I’m not able to organize it because the item add at the bottom gets in the way. I’ve used this app for years and it was perfect and simple the way it was.

This app used to be great but in an attempt to add stuff or spruce it up you’ve made it worse. There’s no need to have the ability to add things to the catalog at the bottom while you’re shopping. That all was best on the main first catalog screen when you’re at home composing your list, not when you are out shopping. Also, you used to be able to easily clear part of your list as you cross things off. It made viewing a long list easier if you could remove what you have already crossed off. When I’m shopping with a long list, maybe two times or so I would want to clear the crossed off items and condense the list to only what I still need to purchase. It’s used to be clear how to do it. Only by reading another’s review did I figure it out. Now there’s a cryptic check mark that clears the crossed off items. Great. I still have that function from a previous version, but why hide it as an unmarked, untitled check mark to clear. User testing clearly not applied on this version. Get rid of the bottom add items and keep it where it was before... on the main item catalog list. There’s no need to add items to my catalog while shopping. And maybe make it clear what that check mark does. Overall the app is good and I use it every week. It was just easier and made more sense before. Thanks for a cool app.

Shake to clear marked items only works occasionally. Dislike colors on this version. Older version was perfect!

I have had this app for several years! Why did you have to change it? Go back to the old one. Why does your Marketing people think they need to change things? What the heck does that ✅p mark top right do? Hate the enter line in the bottom! Can not find the move button. If you want a suggestion, would love to be able to look up folders using some kind of a "search option"
