First introduced by Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited (SHKP) in Hong Kong in 2012, ‘SHKP Vertical Run for Charity’ is a charitable fundraising activity to encourage healthy living and giving among Hong Kong. Over HK$25 million was raised to support children and youth services in the local community.
‘SHKP Vertical Run for Charity’ was held at two locations in 2015, including International Commerce Centre in Hong Kong (Race to Hong Kong ICC) and International Financial Centre in Shanghai (Race to Shanghai IFC), and have attracted over 6,800 runners throughout the years.
‘2016 SHKP Vertical Run for Charity – Race to Hong Kong ICC’ will be held on 4 December this year at the International Commerce Centre (ICC), the tallest building in Hong Kong. Local and global entrants will climb 2,120 steps in elite, individual and relay races and will finish at the sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck on the 100th floor. The Fun Climb entrants will also get to enjoy a more leisurely experience of vertical running. The Race will be the grand finale of the 2016 Vertical World Circuit, bringing international top runners to Hong Kong.
‘2016 SHKP Vertical Run for Charity － Race to Shanghai IFC’ will be on 23 October this year at Two Shanghai International Finance Centre. Local and global entrants will climb 1,460 steps in elite, individual and relay races and will finish at Level 57 of Two Shanghai International Finance Centre. And the Fun Climb will give participants a taste of this event.
Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) has developed a smart phone app for the SHKP Vertical Run for Charity. It combines race details, registration, race results, latest news and training tips to help runners prepare for the race.
