This is by far the best sheepshead app on the market. Great interface, realistic play, and customizable. Any plans to update for iPad?

Partners need to be programmed to lead their highest trump. They should also be programmed to schmear points to partners when playing against loaner picker. GAH! When it's late in the match and players are behind by a significant amount, Why do they pick instead of passing for a doubler? When the dealer is behind in the 13th-15th hand, why doesn't (s)he choose a doubler? When the probable partner leads trump, why does the picker out-trump? Where is the trust? ;-)

This is a great version of the game. I guess the only things that could improve it is that I would like if you could rotate it and if it came with game rules.

A good simulation of Sheepshead

Overall a good and fun simulation of Sheepshead. Over the years of computer gaming, and I have been playing computer games since the late '70s, Sheepshead has been elusive. There needs to be a fair amount of artificial intelligence for game not be bad. I can see three handed being not has hard to control, but five handed is another story and this game does a decent job.

I agree with pkh125 comments. The players don't make logical moves. Would be nice to play on line with real players.

The AI needs to be updated to quit having players pick when they are dealer but down in last third of game by a fair amount. That's when you need some doublers. Also, when a likely partner is identified by, for example, dumping points on the picker when not seeming to be necessary, the other players should start working together. That said, very enjoyable app!

I played this card game with my friends and family growing up. We never played with "doubler". Also, we had the option to play a hand and call "every trick". That would be a good feature to add to the game.

Been playing SH for three decades plus, and this app is a solid effort. That being said, it could use some improvements. 1. The odds of three 4Q finesse hands in a game of nine hands (3 player mode) are astronomically low, but the computer seems to manage it often enough while I get the 4Q monster hand once every 6-10 nine-hand games, which seems much more reasonable. Cost: one star Please fix the algorithm, it is skewed. 2. When partnered against a picker, the "schmear" tactic can effectively crack the picker. The computer partner will dump the 7d for zero points when I have already claimed one trick, then it will hand over the 10d or Ad when the computer picker has claimed the trick. Cost: one star Please fix the AI for the partner, unless you want to list it in he description as irretrievably stupid. When it's not frustrating my efforts to win by either of the two points above, this program is among the best I have seen, and I have helped programmers fix issues like this in the past.

Edit A.I. names please?

Please update AI names to be edited BUT I Love love love I finally found a Sheeps app that is well made, has a clean look and really good A.I. I would love the ability to change the names of the characters though. Small gripe but it would go along way to get my friends from back home as players in my virtual game. :)
