This reading comprehension app has twenty fictional stories about children's daily life. You can also create and add your own stories to the app.
Category Price Seller Device
Education $3.99 AbiTalk Incorporated iPad

Each story has about 150 words. Each story introduces new vocabulary and concepts, and is followed by a set of exercises that measure the student's comprehension. The exercises include multiple choice questions, true/false questions and matching exercises that ask the student to match words or concepts with their definition, or create compound words.

The app allows unlimited individual users, and provides detailed reports on each student's progress. The app can be configured to email the progress reports to a parent or teacher.

There are two modes: Practice Mode and Test Mode. In practice mode, the student is given visual and audio feedback as they answer each question.

You can create and add your own stories, along with images and questions. You can sync all the data (stories, images, questions, user accounts, reports, etc.) to your dropbox account, and import all the data to another iPad.

This app helps develop reading, vocabulary and comprehension skills.

Just downloaded and this app looks amazing!! I love how the stories aren't SO long that they can hold the child's attention, but aren't just one short sentece or short paragraph, but a FEW so they really have to be able to COMPREHEND!!! LOVE IT!! ANOTHER GREAT ABITALK APP!!!!!! Would love some "factual" stories, maybe? Mammals, plants, human body??? Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!

I just downloaded this app and read the first story and answered the questions. Thank you for the app! This is just what I have been waiting for. A reading app that kids have comprehension Q's. I love that you can look at the story and locate the answer also! Can't wait to let my kids work with this one! ;)

I love to use this for practicing reading and comprehension skills in speech therapy at school! I also use it in reading intervention classes! Simple, engaging, must have!

Great app!

This app is a must for teachers to see if their students comprehend what they are reading. Stories aren't too long so students at this level's attention is held. Hope to see more stories in the future!

Excellent practice for reading comprehension

My 2nd grader really enjoyed doing these stories and questions. Just wish there were more stories. I am willing to pay extra for additional passages.

Great for reluctant reader

I bought this for my second grader, who is a very reluctant reader. He likes this series as compare to the other reading comprehension series. He likes the story and the ability to have a word read to him when he is stuck. The comprehension questions are a little better than some of the other series. However, I would like to see more inference questions.

Freezes!

Every time I try to create a new user, the game freezes.
