Opponent preview removed--DISRESPECTFUL

Players can no longer preview potential opponents. We are unable to accept play with a compatible and/or competitive opponent. Medium and High-ranked players are stuck playing against "ELO BABIES" whose skills are at the "run Jane, run" level After defeating the low-ranked player, we receive ZERO points for the win! "Olympia Gardener's" review is correct. This is unequal treatment that is DISRESPECTFUL TO ALL PLAYERS!!! Electronic Arts (EA) ignores our complaints and refuses to bring back the ability to preview potential opponents. WHY??? EA receives remuneration for subjecting its users to advertisements after every play. Not fun, but okay... This makes the app free for us to use. ANSWER THIS: What purpose is being served by also subjecting players to treatment that is disrespectful and abusive? Medium and high-ranked players are paired against ELO BABIES. To maintain our ELO ranking, we have no choice but to proceed to slaughtering the poor soul at the other end. Do you not understand that this is disrespectful and becomes a form of abuse? The ability to preview potential opponents needs to be reinstated! 11/28/2017 -- Just checked back. Nothing has changed. I do not need, or want, your MISERABLE, commercial-laden, app badly enough to tolerate the frustration, disrespect, and/or participate in the abuse that accompanies the inability to select a competitive opponent. Solution? DUMP THE APP!
Preview of opponent profile blocked - DISRESPECTFUL

Updates remove the ability to preview a potential opponent's profile; which means a player cannot select a compatible and/or competitive opponent. THIS IS DISRESPECTFUL TO ALL PLAYERS! Medium and high-ranked players regularly get stuck playing against the neophytes. We have no choice but to "proceed to the slaughter"; only to be rewarded with ZERO points for defeating the low-ranked player. Unequal treatment means ignorance is rewarded and the accomplished player is penalized. High-ranked players are systematically being driven out because they cannot find suitable opponents. Land-slide victories yielding ZERO points are NOT FUN!!! Furthermore, they serve no purpose. Since Electronic Arts/SCRABBLE perpetually demonstrates its "lack of concern" and "complete insensitivity" for its users by ignoring legitimate complaints, I have no qualms about revealing how to circumvent the ads. Get TWO devices! When ads are playing on the first device, continue play with the second! You may also circumvent the inability to mute the volume by plugging in ear buds. Secure the earbuds to the back of your device. The volume will not be off, but at least you do not need to listen to it! Sadly, after Electronic Arts/SCRABBLE's implementation of the recent updates, there is no way to remedy (or even improve) our inability to select a comparable and/or compatible opponent. EA needs to realize that removal of the preview capabilities had unintended consequences and serves no useful purpose. Reinstate the preview capabilities for viewing an opponent's profile prior to commencing a game. 11/28/17 -- EA/Scrabble now wants us to download update 5.23. The description indicates it contains "behind-the-scene enhancements". An enhancement is supposed to ADD something....yet EA updates 5.21 and 5.22 REMOVED our ability to preview an opponent's profile. After what EA has already done to us, do you honestly expect us to willingly download another one of your MISERABLE updates??? What else are you deleting?

Unplayable, just way too many ads. Lack of dictionary support, one must leave the app to access a decent dictionary app. Deleted from my iPad.

Update: Frozen again. Can’t you people fix this? And you want me to pay $9+ to have an app that freezes frequently. You want my money but not the responsibility of working to have it run smoothly. Have just re-downloaded Scrabble after a number of months. At least some of the stupid stuff has been removed, and I can mute it as well as turn off some features. Some of the ads are a half minute - long enough for me to get interested in something on tv. I ignore all and wouldn’t buy in any case. Also, after playing just about 8-10 games, it completely froze. Had to delete and download again. Another complaint is that at the end of almost every game, I am left with 2-3 letter U. The computer seems to get an inordinate amount of the high value letters. Would love to play just a regular game against the computer.

Great game - easily a 5 Star, except for the ads! Really, after ever turn! And some are 30 Second “commercials”. Can you pay to have an ad-free version? I don’t see that as an option.
