Sky & Telescope Magazine, Mar 2015 - “Several astronomy-oriented weather apps are available, but Scope Nights has become my favorite… it does a fine job of summarizing the data in a clear and understandable fashion.”

Austin Astronomical Society, Jan 2014 - “The more-advanced astronomers will find its extended 10-night forecast feature valuable compared to other apps that limit the forecast to 48 hours. I would recommend Scope Nights to any stargazer planning his/her next night out.”

Sky & Telescope Magazine, Dec 2012 - “There’s no shortage of weather-related apps for the iPhone, but there’s only one specifically made for amateur astronomers… Our resident weather maven, who uses more than half a dozen apps and websites to prepare predictions, gives Scope Nights two thumbs up for it’s consistent accuracy”.

Reviews

Very accurate
Kingsman569

My backyard observatory is located about 15 miles inland from the California coast. We are often affected by the marine layer clouds coming in. This app has been a very useful tool!

Pretty accurate
doncjr

I rely on this program to plan my scope nights. It’s rarely been off much

Good App
Khancat

Generally accurate & easy to use. Didn't like having to purchase features 1st version included (at much lower price)....but still a very useful app.

It’s buggy. Save your money
CSlug007

I was really rooting for this app. But it’s so buggy it’s almost useless. When u add one site, it adds it three or four or ten and keeps growing over time. So after 2 sites you’re full. Within a day the takes long to load. It has created itself with so many duplicates. Managing sites doesn’t do anything when u delete the duplicates so you’re left with having to uninstall and start all over again.

Sites are a pain to delete
hdhjdjfjjfjfjf

The program randomly fills up the site list with everything you click on. Then the sites take forever to delete. Why would it allow you to add the same site more than once? Also, why not have a “clear all” for the sites? It’s a bit frustrating that for the cost, it’s not a bit more functional.

Waiting for it to be accurate
Krockelein

So far it says every night will be bad and has made me lose two trips to my dark sky site. Regret having bought it.

Improving all the time!
Rossmon1

All the good this app used to contain got lost in a ripoff hunt for in app purchase $$ to get standard features needed to practically use the app. All by a developer trying to make more money from one tiny, limited customer base app. Even my earlier version no longer works as it tells me it cannot do a lookup of my local areas global forecast. This is a clear example of a poorly run small business and product. i now get similar weather info from several astro apps as a free add in with no in app purchase price plus theres the classic web based clear sky chart gui page for most locales. Ross

Too many in-app purchases
bigpappadanks

Great idea, but to get all the features it'll cost you! Wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing. I guess they figure amateur astronomers have money to burn. They nickel and dime you to death. Every time you click on a feature it asks for money. I mean really, should I have to pay for an upgrade to store more an two locations? That is crazy! You at least three purchases to make to get all the features they describe. By the time you're done the app ends up costing many times the initial purchase price. I wish in app purchases would go the way of the dinosaur.

Great useful app
Rjh06

Love to stargaze and astrophotography. This app is very useful and accurately predicts good to ideal conditions. Check it several times per week.

Great app and update
Drhappytooth

I love this app! I have used it for a long while now and it has been accurate in planning my nights. Great job!
