Much improved

I recently shifted to iPad Pro, so the font sizes are not as big a deal as before. Improved fonts a good thing. Zooming in on figures isn’t as easy to use as the printed

Easy read, complex, hard access

smaschue

I like reading on iPad. Very nice interface! However, I think the log on process is much more complex than any other magazine. Also when I just want to download the magazine I am subscribed to,it seems I have to page through too many ads for other books and magazines to find it. I do not like SA taking issues off my device without my permission

This app is great on iPhone and iPad.

I love bringing this with me everywhere I got my favorite publication, and I have every issue ever made in the palm of my hand. I wish there were a way on iPhone to download multiple issues at the same time though.

Worst magazine app ever!

Why? It can't remember you login ID from one session to another. I always have to provide my login data each time I use the app to download an issue. If they can fix that one MAJOR issued then this would be a decent app to use.

Don't subscribe to Sci Am through Apple

drjefferson

The Scientific American app is great. But you should not subscribe through Apple. You should only subscribe through the Scientfic American we site. The reason is that subscribing through the web site gives you access to Sci Am on all platforms, including the IOS app, but not the other way around. If you subscribe through Apple, your subscription is not recognized on the web site, and you cannot access the huge amount of additional timely material that they provide there. This restriction makes no sense, because both subscriptions are the same price. But you get so much more by subscribing on the web site. This is not made clear in the app store description. Very frustrating, and not something I would expect from Scientific American.

A Wonderful Magazine

HelloDMV

You have been reading Scientific American for years. The articles are top quality, written by experts in the field, and beautifully illustrated.

Scientific American app

Really handy. But it’s a bit easier to navigate in iBooks. Page lay out in a row at bottom. Would be god to have book mark and underlining capability. The app should look and feel like the magazine.

The app is great

I prefer to read the printed version, but with the app I can keep reading the issue wherever

Kludgy and getting worse

What started off as a wonderful intuitive app that allowed you to zoom in to view figures and insights and bookmark articles has morphed into an app that is barely useful. To views figures now you have to use a tiny zoom window (what genius came up with that) photos can no longer be zoomed. Going back to paper here
