Works like a chime!

My teaching schedule is WACKY this year. I was constantly late or early until I found schoolchimes ! All functions are working properly (per older reviews)

I love this app. I’ve been looking forever for an app that lets me set up a block schedule of alarms for different “types” of days, a schedule that I can label as a whole and then turn off or on as a whole when needed. For example, the schedule of time blocks I follow on a regular work day is different from what I would follow on a day I work from home. I want to be able to easily switch between them. Most apps force me to set up a schedule for a particular day of the week but that doesn’t work for me because my weeks are always changing at short notice. Not to mention I don’t want alarms going off on a vacation or holiday. And a lot of apps won’t even let me turn off alarms as a group, instead forcing me to disable the alarms one by one (I use blocks of time periods for my schedule with an alarm for each and I could a have a dozen or more per day.) This app lets me create a schedule of alarms, label both the individual alarms and the schedule as a whole, and then switch between different schedules without a hassle. I have one for a regular work day, a work from home day, a travel day, weekend days, etc. I can also choose not to run the alarms at all and I don’t have to individually disable them. There are a variety of alarm sound options, but some people may find it limited. My only real complaint is that there isn’t an ad-free version, which I’d be happy to pay for. It’s also not the most attractively designed app out there, but it is simple and easy to use. It works perfectly for my needs.

Make it so we can add our own sound files.

Please, make it possible so we can add our own sounds. I would like to use this as a real school bell and need it to sound a certain way

Chimes need to run in the background!

This app was exactly what I was looking for- except The chimes would only work if the app was up. I run a homeschool and we need to shift from subject to subject, but I might be using my phone or tablet to show pictures or play music. Or my phone may be ‘asleep’ during a lesson and I need to hear the chime to shift gears.

More Bell tones!

Needs a fix since update

Since the iOS update, I have not been able to get the app to push notify in the background! The app does not ring unless it's open please fix this. Also, the app needs a way to copy a day's schedule over after creating ones. This allows users to create a time schedule, copy it, then rename the class periods. The biggest issue right now is not having a sound notification while in the background. Please fix.

So I read a review before writing this, which basically echoes what I have to say as well; since the recent Apple update, the APP seems unable to run in the background, which was quite frankly was one of this app's superpowers. I am hoping that in the near future (as in really near, since this hiccup has already messed up some of my timing at school) updates will fix this problem because it is truly one of the items about this app that makes it really extraordinary. I have searched far and wide in the App Store for apps that can do what this one does, and while there are a number that come somewhat close, I find that this app is the best so far at doing what I need it to do. However, I have to be running it now in the foreground (i.e., since the Apple update), which is annoying and irritating. To be fair, Apple screwed up a variety my apps since the update, so I think that some of the blame lies in the actual company rather than the app maker. Still, I hope the app maker will fix this soon. Nevertheless, I don't give this app five stars, not because it doesn't deliver (it does—understanding that the app maker really needs to fix this current problem after the Apple update), but because I wish that I had the opportunity of using my own alarm sounds rather than the chimes! I understand that the app is called "Chimes," and it is great that they have their own little chime sounds! But could the app maker allow us to select our own sounds? Or even the system sounds that come with the phone? I find the chime sounds so melodramatic, that it is almost embarrassing to have them blast during the middle of my classes! And then the sound that doesn't sound like a chime, that sound is a missile strike warning! Too much! Thus, using my own sounds, and fixing this Apple update issue with the app, would really make this app five stars in my book! PLEASE, PLEASE UPDATE SOON APP MAKER MAN!! ?
