ROUTE PLANNING
Scenic offers many many options to plan your tours: (1) Select a location and be navigate there along curvy roads. (2) Create a route yourself by dropping up to 200 via points with fast, short or curvy roads to get from one point to the next. (3) Import routes through many ways and many sources. For example: Scenic integrates with the Furkot, RouteYou and Kurviger.de online routeplanners and the Scenic WebApp makes it easy to import GPS files (GPX, KML, KMZ, GDB, ITN) and Google (My) Maps URLs. Simply drag and drop GPS files and copy/paste Google Maps URL's in the WebApp and the route will be waiting for you in Scenic on your phone. (4) As the only app of it's kind Scenic can make nearly every imported route navigable, even if it has thousands of points. (5) If you don't feel like creating or importing your own routes, you can choose from the many thousands of routes shared, rated and reviewed by fellow Scenic users.

NAVIGATION
Of course Scenic wouldn't be a good alternative to Motorcycle GPS units if it didn't offer navigation. The navigation screen has been especially designed for use on the motorcycle, with large fonts, a clear route line and a screen layout that enables you to see next turns in a quick glance. And of course Scenic also gives voice instructions (in 21 languages). Next to that Scenic has special features to guide you to the start point of a route and skip via points if you take a (deliberate or accidental) detour.

TRACKING
Scenic's tracking feature allows you to save your touring adventures for ever. With every ride you take, wether you're navigating a route or not, your ride is tracked. Scenic records your speed, the roads you took and the pictures taken along the way. Every trip you ever took can be shared on social media, exported to GPX files and even turned into a navigable route so you can ride it again.

* Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

* Scenic has an optional Premium Subscription that gives you access to Premium Features (Voice Guidance, Route Import & Route & Trip export). The subscription automatically renews every year. The first payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of the purchase. I read the reviews and thought this was a great solution. We started on a motorcycle trip from Wyoming to the BMW Ralley in Tennessee. This app took us zigzagging through downtowns and residential areas (some of these were a lil sketchy to say the least!) When it should have sent us to the truck route. Although we requested no interstate it tried routing us to the interstate. We stopped and had lunch and had it paused after we were done and requested it to restart route, it tried to send us back to where we started that morning so we made the route from that point as a new beginning. We went in a compete circle...we followed when it had us driving on top of the "levy road" that turned into a two track gravel road. By following this apps route we have added no less than 5 hours into our trip. We would be ready to give up and it then seem to follow the paper map that we were using and we would think YES ITS WORKING! only to be fooled again! You have heard the saying "Fool me once shame on you,Fool me twice shame on me,Fool me thrice...THIS RELATIONSHIP IS OVER... DELETE!!! I will be stopping and getting paper maps for the trip home.

Well done

Great app at a very good price compared to similar apps that charge way more.

Best so far

This app gets close to approaching the holy grail of motorcycle planning and navigation. I’ve tried lots of apps and this one so far has worked the best for my needs.

So far so good

I have ridden mainly local and from what I have used this app is the best out of the 4 I downloaded. I have yet to try the trip tracking but that changes vary soon. Going on a 3 day ride with friends and plan on using trip tracking to record and share this trip. I truly hope it’s as easy as it sounds

Great app

It took me a bit to really use it but it works like I want.

I have been using this app for my routing for a little while now, and it has become my favorite planning and routing app. I like that I can create and import routes from my computer, and I really like how I can share my routes easily. The Scenic Webapp gives me the ability to just copy a Google Maps URL or import directly from Furkot to it and it seamlessly transfers to the phone app. This last update seems to have addressed some of the little tweaks you'd have to go back to after importing a route. I run a 100 member motorcycle group and lead rides pretty much every weekend. I can tell you that when you have a large group of bikes behind you, the last thing you want to do is take a wrong turn and then have to turn a big bunch of bikes around. During the time I've been using this app, I have had questions 2 different times. Both times I contacted the developer via email, and both times I got a fast, thorough response. I am constantly asked to share routes and share information on the navigation tools I use. I have no hesitation in recommending Scenic to all that ask. With the ability to publicly post the route, group members can access the route by name and have a copy of the route themselves. That makes it easy if someone wants to join up along the way, or gets separated from the group. My only complaint, (and it is a small one) is that I wish that I could purchase the whole USA and Canada or at least regions of them instead of downloading 1 state or province at a time. It's not a big problem when I know the general route, but for areas that I'm unfamiliar with, I worry that I'll need a map I don't have and don't have access to when in the middle of nowhere. I have recently been using Furkot online to plan multi day routes, and Scenic will directly load those routes into the app, and automatically break them into 1 day increments. When you put these two programs together, you have an extremely powerful trip planning tool. When I am over a thousand miles from home, with a dozen riders relying on my lead, I feel confident that Scenic will get me there. As an anal retentive planner, that says a lot. I've purchased 2 other apps that were made unusable by "updates", Tom Tom and CoPilot. I trust that I won't experience this with Scenic, since the developer is a rider like me. I'm looking forward to further updates and features, especially the group planning. That will be really useful for me. Keep up the good work!

Mighty fine

Very user friendly. Four stars because every app has room to improve. Lots of useful features even in the free version, but worth every penny to subscribe even if you only go on a couple of long rides a year. Tracking and sharing routes have opened up so many great unknown roads for the wife and I. Out of the MANY route tracking apps we’ve tried Scenic is by far the best by a country mile!
