Description:
Speed through stunning 3D worlds on tracks you created – and rediscover the magic of Scalextric!
Build fast, fun or challenging tracks with the Scalextric track creator, share your circuits and use Game Centre to play against global opponents!
Key features:
CREATE CLASSIC CIRCUITS
Mix it up with your own track designs. Choose pieces of Scalextric track and assemble new and exciting circuits. Race on other player’s custom tracks, or share your designs with a worldwide community.
YOU vs THE WORLD
Scalextric is one of the first games to take advantage of Apple’s Game Centre, giving you instant access to a global community of mobile gamers. Invite your friends to a game and battle to reach the highest scores of players around the world.
RACE YOUR FRIENDS OR A DIGITAL FOE
Play against your friends via the Game Centre, or play against the computer’s smart artificial intelligence (AI). Either way, winning won’t come easy.
BURN THROUGH 3D WORLDS
With stunning 3D graphics, you’ll be transported straight back to the bedroom floors of your youth. Scalextric takes full advantage of Retina Display to give you beautifully crisp graphics.
CHOOSE YOUR VIEW
Adjust your point-of-view mid-game to get the best view of the action. Choose from seven viewpoints.
THE CAR’S THE STAR
Choose from four classic cars, then customise your ride.
Too slow to respond when you hit the throttle. Sometimes the throttle does not respond at all. Also, you need to be able to set the camera angle before the race begins. Where is the multiplayer option?!? I cant tell any difference in the skill levels, they're all hard. The car selection is really crappy. Great idea, less than great product. I would have thought Scalextric would have attempted a much more realistic slot car simulation.
Good for planning, but the game is a bit slow with the throttle and car selection is weak. This is still fun though.
Seems like it has potential and expandability EXCEPT that even on the easiest setting it's close to impossible to win. What's the point of having difficulty settings? I'm pretty good (stay on track but fish tail speed) so I can't imagine anyone enjoying this much. Too bad.
I own and play a real Scalextric kit. This app doesn't even come close to simulating or pretending to mimic how slot cars react when you accelerate and not accelerate. Scalextric also offers HUNDREDS of car models in real life. The 4 choices of cars in this game are about the worse selection of cars I've ever seen in ANY video game. I'm SHOCKED Scalextric would even endorse this game. This is just plain horrible.
Interesting concept to bring Scalextric to the iPhone - this is an entry level game and should be free - then add masses of cars, much more track and you have a paid app. Also if you're going to do track design then do it right - allow me to use this for my own set and let me enter the amount of pieces I own - so I can try out a circuit on the iPhone before I go build it. Also let me have bridges and flyovers !
This could be a very fun game with new cars tracks and track parts. What would really help would be an auto complete button for designing tracks because it is impossible to finish a track that is good. Also if you unlocked cars and new tracks that would give the player something to look forward to.
Not since I was a kid have I enjoyed slot cars. This game does a good job of reproducing that fun. Like it was on my living room floor, once you fly off the track, it is "game over". I am giving this game 5 stars because it has much potential. It is frustrating that the computer player never messes up. It is hard for me on the easy level and I would recommend an easier setting for lousy drivers like myself but all in all, this game rocks!!!
This app can be better. More cars, band tracks. Better physics too. I have two real tracks, and eight cars. They don't crash on crossovers and stuff. So more cars. More editor tracks too. Like jumps and pit garages. Roadside stuff ya know. Otherwise. Just like the real thing.
It's got the action and limitations of my track, but it can be played on-the-go. The editor is a bit challenging: on more complicated creations it's tricky to get the final connect to line up.
Everything is great like in real life. The only thing is that I wish you could change lanes like SCX Digital slot cars. I can't get multiplayer to work on my iPad. Otherwise, this is excellent. Also, the makers DO LISTEN (yay!) to these reviews. I say,"Download it!"
