Savage Worlds Combat Tracker

Roseburner Limited presents the officially licensed Savage Worlds Combat Tracker, or the SWCT for short. The SWCT is an app designed to help the player and GM track the particulars of a typical combat session using the Savage Worlds Deluxe edition. Primarily, the SWCT is a calculator that determines the modifiers and dice rolls for an action by taking into consideration: situational modifiers, combat tactics (such as aiming), the effects of edges, hindrances, weapons, wounds, fatigue, etc.

Very impressive

This packs a lot of info into a well designed app. Great for gamers.

Not Useful at the Gaming Table
Thunderforge

I really hate to give a negative review to the first Savage Worlds iPhone app, but it just isn't useful at all at the gaming table. The intention is to put a character's stats in ahead of time and then at the table select wound levels and combat options. It then tells you what to roll based on those mods. The problem is that selecting all that is MUCH slower than just doing it from memory. You don't need for this app to tell you that a Joker gives you a +2 to your trait rolls and damage or that -2 Wounds decrease your trait rolls by -2. But that's exactly what this app does. As for situational modifiers like cover, it takes several taps to look it all up. Way too long! It really slows down the fast, furious, fun nature of Savage Worlds. Furthermore, the app has a cramped GUI, has numerous misspellings ("Hinderances" is a prominent example of this), and doesn't work for NPC special abilities, monstrous sbilities, or custom gear. There's also some weird things like a "Raise" button whose purpose I can't figure out. All in all, I'm sorry to say that this is a novelty app that is useless at the gaming table.

Like it, needs some tweaks.

First, thanks for making this! Savage Worlds is probably my favorite system. I hope this app makes you very rich, and also leads more RP-ers to Savage Worlds. To make it better, I suggest using the training wheels character sheet as a guide. Group skills by attribute. The descriptions of skills do not include trait info, but that would be another option. Just add the attribute in parenthesis after the skill name. To be useful to GMs it would be good to have an interface showing multiple characters. Right now, it's really only useful to players. I'm a GM, so this is something fun to fiddle around with, but not useful to me in a session. I think you should use material from the Super, Fantasy, and Horror Companions. If it means paying another buck with an in-app purchase, I'd be fine with that. These are like expansions to the core rules in Deluxe, and having that flexibility would be great. There's no ability to use trappings, but that's a big part of the system. I know it may seem small, but being able to change "laser sword" to "lightsaber" would be nice in a Star Wars campaign. Powers are completely absent. Please add powers and power points. There's no ability to add notes. I'm giving it four stars because it needs improvement. I might have given it three, but I want you to sell a lot, and I believe you'll make this much better given time. If it's improved, I'll mark it up. If not, though, I'll have to mark it down.

Pretty good and could be great

TL;DR at bottom I'm surprised how much information is on here, along with a bit disappointed with some of the missing information. I like how minimum strength and weapon damage is taken into account. I would like powers to be here and also a way to keep track of power points. The interface is made to keep track of characters after they've been made. It's not good to make a charcter from scratch unless you know the rules or have the book with you. I believe the interface should be more GM friendly. As a GM, I'll be able to use this okay, but it's clunky at best and doesn't have the simple and fast feel the game has. I would also recommend a build to use this for SW Showdown. That would make this app all you will ever need to run a game of Showdown or RP. TL;DR: It's a good app with a fair price, but it is still missing information and GM friendly layout to keep track of the game.

Well worth it!

This app is great for making non beast npcs and enemies! It's also good for keeping up with them on the tabletop. Really good if you don't want a generic troop type, but it does take some time to enter in everything. The GUI is also really easy to navigate. Definitely worth your money.

Love it!

I like having my characters on my iPod. Great idea. I also love the dice roller from this developer.

Great
