Once a satellite has been selected, you will be able to read a number of information necessary to your installation, such as its geographical zone (region/country), its position (longitude East or West), its elevation and azimuth as calculated based on your location. You may then "lock" such satellite: this will make appear on your phone screen an arrow which will guide the direction of your device until it becomes aligned with the satellite (only available in PRO version). Moreover, in case you do not find the satellite on the satellite list you may add it manually in your application using a simple to use interface.

Excellent survey tool

I’ve been in the satellite industry since 1978 and wish I’d had this tool back in the day. If you’re an installer this is a must-have app.

Great App

Love it. Good good. The best I have tried them all. On the road all the time. I use it all the time.

Excellent app to set up your manual satellite antenna.

Great unless you have weak cell signal!

For some reason when you have little or no cell signal, this app doesn’t seem to work. Ends up stuck on a screen saying that is is finding your location. As far as I know, GPS works without cell signal. I’m a Dish technician and thought I would give this app a try since it was free or cheaper (can’t remember). Unfortunately I’m going to have to buy Dish Pointer Pro (which I used on Android for 10 years or so) since this one won’t work, half of the places I install satellites.

Program works great.

What is invaluable tool for figuring out where to set the dish or whether your rooftop dish might work. Sometime just moving at a foot might make all the difference. This app makes it easy to figure it out. Besides all the practical things it’s fun.

Worthless

The compass doesn’t hold true at all. On minute your facing south 2mins later your facing Southwest and haven’t moved an inch. Complete trash and waste, don’t think the Pro upgrade does anything either. Same dumpster fire app.

Try to use it
Country boy installs

The app worked fine when I first used now all it does is stay on find your location screen and when it does open the satellites or not in their right position on the screen sometimes it works sometimes it’s junk

Interface Is Great, Satellite Location Is Not Correct
Carlsbad 2

I’ve tried a few of the these Satellite finding aps. The good news and very bad about this ap: The good news The interface is awesome and simple to use. I especially like the fact that you can save favorite satellites then select the option to only see the favorites in the sky. This is important because there are so many satellites that it is often difficult to see the one you are looking for due to overlapping labels, etc. The very bad news This ap does not accurately display the satellites in their correct location. After much frustration, expense and research, I believe the ap is not adjusting/correcting for Magnetic North. I believe is is only using True North. The story I needed to do a pole mounting of my ViaSat dish as we are in the Sierra Mountains of California and there are pine trees all around the house. Using this ap, I found a perfect line of site location at the back corner of the property. So, I purchased a pole and 80’ of conduit, trenched to the location, planted the pole in concrete and thought all was good. When ViaSat arrived for the system install, they were impressed with my installation but immediately informed me there was no line of site to the satellite. After much discussion, the bottom line is that this ap was showing me the satellite is at 117 degrees azimuth and the installer’s equipment was telling him the satellite is at 104 degrees azimuth. So, no installation and a waste of time and money. Needing to understand what was happening, I tried a couple of free sat finder aps and they pointed the satellite to be in the same sky location as the installer’s equipment. Still frustrated, I found an online site that allows you to input your location and the target satellite. It then displays all the relevant data. Guess what - - - this data showed the ViaSat satellite was located at 117 degrees True North and 104 degrees Magnetic North. So, bottom line is this ap inaccurately displays the satellite location as it is only using True North with no adjustment/correction for Magnetic North.
