Educational and entertaining videos can help to keep the little wonders focused. But if you are a parent you know that leaving your child to browse the internet without any type of content filter is never a good idea. While there are a number of “child-safe” sites online, there’s always the risk that your child might stumble on something that you don’t want them to see even more so when there’s videos involved.
KidSafe Tube is an app that addresses this concern by providing parents with an easy to use to protect their children’s online activities. The app filters YouTube videos based on their content to guarantee that your child is never exposed to any offensive or explicit content while browsing videos on their iPhone or iPad.
Using KidsSafe Tube allows you to effectively regulate the content your child views by giving you the ability to bookmark videos you consider safe for viewing and the ones you don’t. You can bookmark single videos and search results and add them to your block list to protect your child from accidentally viewing any of these videos.
The app also comes with a collection of pre-selected videos for children in different age groups. There are educational videos for toddlers aged 1-3, pre-school students aged 3-5 and for school aged children aged 5 and above. The videos are updated weekly so there’s always something new for your child to watch.
In addition to the video filtering options, the app also has a video timer which lets you set a time limit for video viewing. This encourages your child to take breaks while they’re watching videos and prevents them from being sedentary for extend periods of time. You can also remotely lock the app, view your child’s watching history and add language filters to your settings. e.g. You just need to turn on the lockout option via your iPhone if your kids refuse to let go the iPad, no more heartbreaking fighting.

I dont know if this app has changed but my mom used to have this on her phone for me to use when I was little and it wasn't kid safe! The search bar would pop up saying cuss words, kill, killer, killing, blood, etc! This app had better changed since then but I prefer to not download it again!!

The sound doesn't work with my iphone 4s 6.1.1. Overall it would b a great app but, it won't even let me adjust the sound... Disregard. It works now

Just tried the lite version for a week and glad I didn't pay for it. It's a great concept but the only complaint I have is that it will not save the videos that I mark as favorites. It saves them until I turn my iPad or iPhone off. Don't know if this is just because its the lite version and you actually have to pay to get that feature. I reallydo wish it would work though cuz I really like the app otherwise. I haven't found another app that has the same idea and is so user-friendly. :(

After downloading the app, the first video my son finds is Epic Meal Time! Funny but SO not kid friendly. I examine it closer and find you have to turn on the kid safe feature (shouldn't it be on all the time?). When I try to turn it into child safe mode it requires a pass code. The pass code should be used to turn the child safe feature off not on. I don't see where to set a passcode in the settings either.

The copy claims that this is a video filter, which it is not. There is no way to search for, say, Scooby Doo or Magic Schoolbus, videos that kids might want to watch. Instead, it's a preselected canned list of videos. This app might have value for the toddler who has his own ipad, or for the parent who regularly gives their iPhone to their preschooler for extended periods of time unsupervised. But for the rest of us, this just isn't going to work. The steady stream of 5-star single-sentence reviews is also a little suspicious. Especially since they all started reviewing yesterday, and all also happened to review exactly the same app called Faceless VPN Connection, on the same day, which also has almost nothing but 5-star one-sentence reviews.
May have safe videos but ads aren't so what is the point?

I loaded this app to try as an alternative kid safe viewing for videos. I loaded the app, put it in kid mode with a password and opened it. Immediately it showed a blinking icon at the bottom which when clicked (which any kid would do) it took me to an ad for a dating website that's first line after the picture was asking for sexual orientation. How is this kid safe if it is showing ads for this type of thing? I deleted it immediately.

Ever since the latest update when ever I leave he kids tube and try to go back on it resets the whole app and it would be great if that bug could possibly be fixed :)

Bad app at first I came on and then it said feels like working in hell w/santon no that's bad all that random stuff the kids safe tittle is complete LIE!!!!!!! I'm very very very disappointed very disappointed ;-( I'm not happy right now not at all. These are the stars ????? I rate NO STARS!!!!!! I HATE THIS APP!!!!!
