More interesting than most, but glitchy

This is a challenging game, with more interesting story line than most. The atmosphere and music is spot on. I would give 5 stars for game design. The actions were interesting, and made sense. They fit with the storyline, and perfect amount of creepiness factor. The HOPs were challenging, not your typical find the pipe and bow. But, the game engine is a different story. I had one game freeze up to the point where I had to start over. Also got several on screen error messages, but those didn’t affect gameplay. The action was often weird. Spent a lot of time trying to place an object exactly in the not obvious right spot. This was frustrating since the game design was so much better than average.

This must be the first in the series- the "rate it preview" is for a game that was released long ago, and the age shows. Movement in cut scenes is jerky rather like watching someone move in a strobe light....triggered a migraine in the first 5 minutes. No custom difficulty. Mouths don't move, game is very dark, HO badly drawn and hard to find or grab objects. When you acquire objects they "jump" and arcs into inventory which jars your eyes. Good luck placing objects too because if it's not perfectly placed it flies and jumps back into inventory and you get to try again. And again. And again. One of the few games I wish I had passed on. Even as a time waster it really isn't worth it.

There is not much good to say about this one. Very dark. Unresponsive touch. Map is not helpful and no customization option. This game seems old to me. Wish I had not bought it, but it seems we have no free trial these days. Wish BF would bring that option back. Sorry I spent $$ for this one.

I'm mad at myself for purchasing this. I should have known better. But I had enjoyed this game's Sable Maze predecessors, so I got this installment- a mistake. The game is clearly an old PC game converted to touch- it therefore pales in comparison to the outstanding BFG titles like Cadenza and Nevertales. The graphics are terrible, dark, and outdated. The controls are beyond awful, the HOs are repetitive and hard to see. The story is nonsensical and uninteresting. The WORST part is the noises the game makes: the sound when you gain an object or misstap is grating, but the heavy breathing sounds that it makes when you zoom in and out on an area are so annoying that I wanted to hurl my device out the window three minutes in. These subpar releases have to stop, Big Fish. We loyal fans deserve better.

What a flop! Dark graphics that make it difficult to see, a map that does not give you any pertinent information, major issues when trying to connect two objects in the hidden object scenes, unresponsive puzzles (particularly in the stained glass puzzle, where pieces refuse to rotate properly), and the game itself was short. Had there been a free trial, I would not have purchased this game.

Once again I have been FORCED to buy a game from Big Fish that has been a total failure! I'm a huge HO gamer, read everyone's ratings before I try it and If I were able to try this out first I wouldn't of wasted my $3.99! I don't understand why the free trials have vanished! Their greedy because they know we CANT get a refund. Yes there is a map, BUT NO HELP FROM THE MAP. A map is suppose to have helpful hints, things to do, etc,this map has a flag.Thats it. A flag? How is that helping the player? I Don't like the fact that there isn't anything else to the game! There is a bonus game but that's it! Nothing else,no collectibles,no morphing objects,nothing to collect through out the game except notes. That's it. The notes go into your journal. Boring!! The graphics are old and you can see where everything is placed when you zoom into a scene. Like the other reviewer said, the mouths don't move,the HO is nothing new. Give us something bright, light and fun. Give us collectibles, morphing objects, something besides this!! Hey Big fishy total FAIL on this one.! DONT waste your $4 on this one! Hey big fish, how about letting us gamers TRY BEFORE WE BUY LIKE WE USE TO BE ABLE TOO.

Take this one off the market. The story is disjointed and fakey, the action jerky, glitches abound. I finally was stopped completely when one of the steps would not work at all. I was going to delete and reload to see if glitch could be overcome and realized I didn't care enough to do it.
