AR Ruler app uses augmented reality technology (AR) to tape measure the real world with your smartphone’s camera. Target aim on the detected plane and start to use ar tape measure tool:
1) Line - allows to tape measure linear sizes in cm, m, ft, yd, apply mm ruler or inch ruler.
2) Distance meter - allows to tape measure distance from device camera to a fixed point on the detected 3D plane.
3) Angle - allows to tape measure corners on 3D planes.
4) Area and Perimeter.
5) Volume – allows to tape measure size of 3D objects.
6) Height - allows to tape measure height relative to the recognized surface.
Photo Ruler app is designed to accurately tape measure the size of any object by either taking a picture of it or to measure it on the screen. Photo Ruler app allows you to measure things just as conveniently and precisely as with a traditional mm ruler or tape measure tool.
How to use Ruler app:
Photo Ruler app:
Firstly, please ensure that the object you wish to tape measure and the object of known length (Base Item) are in the same picture. There is a predefined list of Base Items in the ruler app settings, including Debit/credit card and Quarter. Select the one you have. Use the Base Item which is closest in size to the object you wish to tape measure using Ruler app.
Secondly, ensure that the Base Item and the object you wish to tape measure using Ruler app are in the same plane and the ruler app camera is (or was) parallel to them. This is necessary to avoid image distortions caused by the ruler app camera perspective.
Align the Blue arrows against the Base item and Green arrows against the object you want to tape measure. The length of the measured object is shown on the Ruler app screen.
Ordinary mm ruler app:
Use screen as a traditional mm ruler app. You can tape measure size of a small object by placing it on the device's screen and adjusting line limiters against the object.
Accuracy of mm ruler app:
Given that you have accurately aligned markers, you will receive a measure that is as precise as when using a traditional mm ruler app or tape measure tool.
Tested this app out to see the accuracy and I’m just gonna say I’m completely disappointed
You’d think it would be nearly impossible to screw up a ruler app but the creators of this app somehow managed to do so. The app only gives you about 3 seconds between pop up ads so it’s impossible to actually use it to measure anything without upgrading to the premium version.
I closed over 15 ads and still have not been able to pull up a ruler to use. It continues pulling up a new ad before the ruler ever opens.
This is hands down the worst app I’ve used, and not because it doesn’t work, but simply because I can’t use it due to the excessive ads. If you use the app with ads the ads will pop up so excessively you can’t actually use the app. They’ll never stop popping up long enough for you to use any of the tools. Sorry, but I refuse to buy an app before I at least try it out first to figure out if I even can use it and justify paying. After 3 solid minutes of clicking out of ads I figured out that to continue with ads meant scamming you into paying for their app. Just make it a paid only app in that case. All this did was annoy me into deleting it.
I don’t mind bottom ads or full screen ads that are only a few seconds. But upon opening it loaded two different ads and the second one was at least 20 seconds. Just wanted to measure something quickly. Not enough patience for this app. Promptly deleted.
The free version is absolutely useless. It shows ONLY ads. You can’t get to a page to use this thing AT ALL to even know if it does what it says!
Opened up the app. It gave me an ad. Dismissed the ad and it gave me another ad. Kept doing this about every two seconds. I couldn’t actually use the app.
Can’t even use the product as ads keep popping up one after another. It’s whack a ads app.
Ads can be more annoying than necessary but I guess they've gotta make money somehow
