For all writers!
Apollolore

This app is a must need for all writers. I highly recommend it. Please purchase it. You will not be disappointed. There are plenty of add-ons. However they do cost money. Still worth it. It also works well as a child game. Everyone pick a cube icon and tell story based on that.

Cool but

Pretty neat idea. It definitly helps with some gamers block. It might help if there was an option to suggest meanings for the die, instead of just pictures. Three bucks is a bit pricey for a die program. The rolling physics work well but the realism of dice getting stuck on their edge is a tad annoying

Love It! Looking forward to expansion packs!

This game is perfect for family fun! The function is totally intuitive - a simple shake and your game begins. The features of the game are well thought out and the sound fx are engaging without being annoying. You (and your friends, and your kids) will be glad you made this purchase! Bonus: This is one of those simple apps that you will want to pull out in those "look what my phone can do" moments! So great!

Deceptively simple

I first acquired the Cubes in their corporeal form as a gift from my boss. I love taking them to the schools when I volunteer, and I use them in the library where I work. The app is beautiful and easy to use.

Great Fun for budding story tellers

I was considering this game for my 5 y/o son, a beginning reader. While this doesn't help with "reading" per se, I thought it might be a fun way to encourage creativity and "authorship" by him without being hindered by words he can't spell/write yet. So I wanted to see the images contained in the set to determine if they are comprehensible by a child. So far of the images I have seen, the only ones that may be difficult (as they are difficult for me) are the capital L in a box and the omni-direction arrow. Since this is a UK game, I can only wonder if those have some kind of meaning there that they don't have in the US. Also, since there are two arrows, one a bow and arrow type, another a directionality, I am not sure that kids can understand that one is a noun while the other, I am guessing, is a verb (go??). Despite this, I believe that the average 5 year old vocabulary can make up stories using these images with the occasional challenge. And, even if my son doesn't enjoy it, I sure as heck am! :)

Love this

I bought the physical cubes (both packs) for my nieces and they love them. We wrote two stories, illustrations and all, within a few hours of them being opened. Getting the app (which works perfectly) for myself because I love the idea of having these with me when I'm starting at a blank page and need a random nudge. The cubes are great for everyone, not just kids, who just needs a random idea once in a while. Looking forward to the existing expansion being available and will happily pay for that and others as well.

Time for an update
BlackFoxAlpha

I really like the real cubes, and the app is a neat approximation. As a writer and filmmaker, it's an instant source of inspiration when I need it as well as a way to keep my skills up. However, the retina display is now officially an apple staple across multiple devices, and the graphic quality of the app is lacking. With the release of a new iPhone I hope to see an upgrade to retina graphics so using the app is as pleasant as using the real cubes.

needs retina display update

this is a great game with a very blurry interface. it deserves better.

Would be great except...

I love this, except it keeps crashing on the iPad when I try to add in the action cubes. Very frustrating!

Works great!

Love this app. The Dice rolling is great, bought all oft the available cubes. I would love to see the ability to customze the number of Dice thrown at one time. I know the game calls for 9 cubes, but myself and others are using the cubes for other purposes and it would be nice to have the flexability we have with the RL cubes.
