Server Problems

Icupchow

So far I have enjoyed this app. I have been wanting to get Role+ and some library content but the app says that it isn't connecting to apple's server. Because of this I am unable to upgrade to Role+ or buy additional content. Please fix and I will give the app a higher rating.

I've been waiting for an app like this! It's amazing and I can't wait to show my friends.not being a hater, but wifi!(wii-fee) if you could play online it would rock!!! A suggestion I have is a new type of role or character, a summoner as a preset choice. Would have low hp, but lots of various abilities. Like shield, minion, heal, fire ball, E.C.T.! But this game could not be better! Thanks for making it! I can't wait for more! - tEMMiE

So, I'm starting with praise; awesome! REALY great organizer! Awesome effects! I love it! The only problem is... ok I promise I'm not going to join the throng of people saying things like; "it should be free!" Or "the price is too much for expansions!" Because I don't think that way. Ok so, the game is great, love it. But if I had to ask you guys to change stuff, there would be only one thing I'd want to change; custom pictures. I mean, if you're gonna create a character, why not decide its appearance as well? So I'm not gonna ask you guys to change it, I'm just stating. Bye!

It's good, but...

It's a really good game. But it would be nice if there was someway to have a Single-player Session. But aside from that, the game is fantastic!

Great concept, needs more.

I absolutely love the idea behind this app and I love the aesthetic. I have a few minor issues. 1. The difficulty system needs some adjusting. From a GM standpoint, there is really only one difficulty suited to each skill level. For example: if you have a rank 3 in a skill, you're almost 100% certain to succeed on easy checks, and 100% certain to fail on hard ones. So medium checks are the only ones with any real random chance. A little more breathing room between difficulties would really help. 2. The adventures themselves seem pretty basic. Allowing an option for branching paths, random loot or giving users the ability to create their own entries in the "random idea generator" would be nice. 3. Filtering classes by genre and allowing a point buy for new characters would give a bit more customization for players. 4. An HP tracker/initiative roller for players would be great.

Awesome RPG app

I use this with my son and nephew to play adventure games we make up on road trips. It is worth paying to save everything and use pictures it makes it easy for us to pick up where we left off

Great!!!!! One Thing

This is a great app. I think it is awesome and so does my sister. We love it and love to use it for fun games. The one thing is that I can't load my recently used characters. Also it was kinda hard at first because I didn't know the people u r playing with had to be in the same room as u. After I played it a little I loved it and got some friends to play it too.

Really nice app

This app is great for casual d&d! And it's easy to set up and use. The design and artwork are fantastic as well. I like that it includes pre-made characters and adventures, in addition it lets you make your own (full version only). The only complaint I have is about the bugs. It keeps crashing when I try to use the General skill and deletes my progress. I think it might've been the most recent update. Fix this please! In the meantime I'll be using real dice for the general skill.

Still not there yet

As a lifelong role player I was hopeful when I downloaded this app. After using it for 5 minutes I was disappointed. It's built on a very light (and weak) game system which you cannot understand within the app. Some external research resulted in finding the pdf on the publishers site. It's short, but a must read for anyone hoping to get anything out of this app. After reading it and experimenting with the app it is crystal clear that the app does almost nothing. As a game master, the app goes nowhere. It merely gives you access to some weak back story and loose goals for an adventure. It does nothing to provide you with locations, non-player characters, enemies, items, or maps of any kind. These things are the core of any adventure and always the most effort to weave them together in any sort of respectable fashion. The app provides no connection to the apps of the players; meaning that as a game master, you don't need it at all. As a player, the app provides some very basic functionality, but significantly more than what the GM gets. It allows you to define skills, make skill based checks, and tracks experience against those checks. The system as a whole is very simplified, and as such there are no player stats (strength, dexterity, etc...), combat skills, or even hit points. The system is not elegantly simplified like a European board game. It's basically gutted like those wishy washy free form story telling games. The only thing the app offers is in its aesthetics. What you are basically getting (free and when you buy expansions) is artwork: typically the last thing anyone who role plays would want. There is potential here. The game needs to network so the GM and players are connected. The system needs to be slightly more complex. It should include some minimalist combat system which could be crafted so it doesn't need to be down to a miniatures level of detail. Lastly every adventure must have a network of locations, potential encounters, items, puzzles, and objectives. In this way the GM can send the next thing to the players and see their location and track objectives, items, and victories.
