Each letter is worth points based on frequency -- common letters are worth 1 point, up to "Q" and "Z" which are worth 10 points. Create longer words to get double or triple word scores.
For added fun, each game includes three challenges to create words that meet specific criteria. For example, a word that starts with S, a word that contains two A's, or a word that ends in ING. Completing challenge words leads to stripes and new belts, on your way to your RohuWord blackbelt.
This game is simple enough, spell words to remove letters from the screen. But it can be surprisingly addictive and very challenging. I haven't gotten past level 12 yet. There's also a second game -- word challenges. With each game you get three word patterns, and if you spell a word that matches one of the patterns, you earn stripes, eventually earning different colored belts like in karate. At first I got challenges by chance, without trying. Now I find I'm playing for the challenge words. I don't care about getting a new high score, just completing al three challenges.
It is so fun and addictive. Once you get started, you can't stop. It's also fun to challenge your family members to get a higher belt color than you have.
