Remote File Explorer is free iOS app published by Do Anh

I have three MacBook Pros and four Thinkpads; the app never identified a single computer on my network.

Says it has file readers for .jpg files but the only thing you can see is the file name and the option to download. Not useful for me. It connected fine to my remote hard drive though.
General Sherman's Horse
On my network, it can find nothing -- the only thing I can get from this app are banner ads from Marriott. Nor is there any support either in-app or from the "app support" button, which merely takes you to the publisher's site (which contains no mention of this program). Only giving it one star because I can't figure out how to give it zero.

I downloaded this to access files on a server. It defaults to, and apparently only supports, SMB. It doesn't make sense for an iPad app to prefer a windows protocol over apple AFP or even industry standard ones like NFS. Finding something else that works with something besides windows crap.

This app doesn't see even one of the ten SMB-enabled machines on my home net, and I can't find a way to add machines by IP address. That means it is useless to me.
DeezDonutz
Finds smb shares, no way to browse then non-anonymously. That makes app useless.
That Dew Guy
Won't find any computers on my network. As of right now I have 2 windows pcs waiting for connections. No way to enter host name / ip. Therefore completely useless.

I have two Mac Pros and two MacBook Pros on our network but none of them appear in the app. No way to add manually. No way to troubleshoot. Poorly made app. Bad user experience.

It connects to my Mac without a problem. Supports downloading of multiple files at once. Sometimes, there's a problem with downloads stopping in the middle. Also, the app does not support streaming.
