My daughter was killed in a traffic accident when she was sixteen. Three days later, I ventured out and turned on Relevant Radio— preset on my dial. I think it was Monsignor Sweatland, but may have been Father Rocky. He was speaking about the death of a child and gave voice to thoughts already forming in my heart: That such souls are *spared* the agony and heartbreak of a life lived. I did not want to lose her, but (like all fathers) wanted to spare my daughter the pain I have known as an adult— to take it for her. I travel for a living and rarely have access to a Church. Relevant Radio is my spiritual community. God bless all of them.

This radio actually used to be good. Back when it was still just Immaculate Heart Radio. Back then there were so many great shows. Then the merge happened. And not long after Relevant Radio’s new management started kicking off numerous of the shows from before simply because they were no longer adequate and for not being “nice” and sugarcoating everything, and for not conforming to the current standards of political correctness. It’s such a shame. And ever since management took these actions, this radio has fallen far from what it used to be. I used to donate money but will no more. I will be looking for alternate radio stations. I will note however that in all fairness the one show that still keeps me from deleting this app altogether is The Patrick Madrid Show. But that’s it.
