Crap

You have to purchase expensive equipment. Completely misleading.

The product is good but the company closd its doors in march. I've been using it since June 2013 and it works well...the channel guide stopped working a couple of weeks ago. Lets hope that someone buys the company's assets so that it may fully work again.

Wonderful

As a technologically challenged mom, I have to say this is a wonderful app! Very easy to use, and no more lost remotes!

This is the best

This is awesome. I have mounted the unit on the wall out of the way. Could be easier to set up but not to bad. Will get more as I get more TVs. My only objection is the blue light. Could you make it possible to toggle that off? It's so nice being able to control the TV and entertainment system from my iPhone!

Incredible value

Company is now out of business. Hoping someone buys out the technology and brings it back. I've been forced to buy a harmony wifi system and its been inferior in almost every way. ? Old system still worked perfectly until I bought a new piece of equipment and needed to add the codes (Code database is now offline). ? ===ORIGINAL REVIEW=== Ive been using RedEye since the first version. This is one of the best purchases I have made for my Home Theater. I had a iPhone 3GS sitting around from the old days and now I have a dedicated remote that has a range only limited by my WiFi !!! Which is handy since all my equipment is in a closet, and my zone B is connected to outside speakers. Our iPad took using this app & base unit to a whole new level. To do all the functions that RedEye supports with any other system would cost thousands but our RedEye v2 only cost me $200, ...incredible value. It has a great backup feature on the PC and any changes made on the PC automatically shows up on all our iOS devices on the network! No need to hook up cables or sync anything. Friends and family love coming over and using their own phone to control what they want to watch also. Its not perfect; There are a few small annoyances: 1) Just like the Logitech Harmony series, RedEye setup takes into account your equipments model # when programming. It returns every code that it could possibly be and you pick one and test it out. This sometimes is tedious to a fault taking a very long time to find all the codes. To their credit the equipment database is constantly growing & improving everyday. 2) When designing your own remote button layout with your phone or tablet, they have very handy "snap to" guides that pop up on the screen to help, except that when you lift your finger the button still has a tendency to move. Seems picky but I want to keep them perfectly straight. Note: This task is MUCH easier/faster to do using a mouse and the PC interface. 3) The Guide is great and accurate, but I have DirecTV with my local stations via an Antenna (very common) but the guide will only allow me to setup one or the other - not both at the same time. Pretty much useless for my locals. Simply allowing me to display more than one provider in the guide would fix this. In addition there is no way to backup your favorite channels. So if you have to delete the app or restore your phone then you loose all your favorite channels and have to set them up again. You can however backup everything else to the PC and restoring everything else is a snap. Once you've invested the time in the initial setup, the hardware works great and the speedy response & customizable software rewards all your effort. I think this is the absolute best consumer wifi remote available with fantastic customer support. I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

Ver. 1.1.0 Listen to music, surf the web and control your home theater at the same time. This app can be closed and opened as needed. Just close Safari while listening to music and open Redeye to control your home theater. With Wifi connection programming is easier than the Harmony 880 which needs to be connected to a computer, commands for devices are dowloaded directly to iPhone. Since getting this app and hardware I haven't used my Harmony 880 in a month!
