Fun, but confusing…
ShiningStarLuna

I love the movie, so of course I was quick to pre-register for the game! First of all, I’ll talk about what I like. The graphics are cute and crisp. There’s lots of content to discover. And best of all for a mobile game: it doesn’t feel too reliant on micro-transactions. Okay, now for the flaws. It is a fun game, and I’m not about to delete it anytime soon, trust me. But the game does lack some of the identity that was so strong in the original film. The enemies seem a bit random; where do they fit in in the film universe? Also, some of it makes no sense. For example, Snow White appears as Red Shoes normally but turns into her normal self when she attacks enemies. This contradicts the movie so heavily it could be a fanmade bootleg game. Red Riding Hood is cute but it’s a little strange that she’s in the game and not the movie. The plot of the game seems very interesting but it’s not implemented enough. I still don’t know how the game fits in with the intro comic. I would really appreciate it more if the game actively pushed the lore of the movie forward in a non-canon manner. And, if I may nitpick a little, the lack of music in world field makes it feel like a chore. Why is there no music? Some sound effects for buttons on the Home Screen would be a nice addition as well. Still, I am mostly fine with that. What stumps me is the gameplay. It was really hard for me to figure out the difference between chapters and world field. I still don’t know what the purpose of world field is, since it doesn’t progress the plot. The game tells me to learn a world skill, and I can’t figure out how to do that. All the tutorial taught me was the basics of battle! Also, what is the point of research??? What are the gears for???? I’m so confused. I think kids would mostly want to play this game. If I, an 18 year old who is incompetent at video games, can’t figure it out, how can a child figure it out? In conclusion, it’s a little… bland? And awkward. And it could be so much bigger. But I’m more than willing to stick around for improvements!

Amazing but...
Ends of the Wayward Storm

I love this game and its graphics but I wish there were checkpoints every five or ten stages that saves your progress in case you die. It's a bit tedious having to start all over after dying.
