Archaic interface and unable to detect devices. I needed to create an account on this broken app I order to use Alexa on my NEO switch. Switch itself works fine but cannot get this app to work.
The whole thing is not rocket science. This should work so easily but it doesn't- it refuses to connect to the application. Awful product. Will be returning the 10 I purchased.
For the life of me I am unable to enter a user name that the app felt was valid. HELP! I purchased a few outlets and switches to bring it to the next level on home automation and I can not get past setting up the account.
I can get the device to connect on my iPad but not on the phone. Would be significantly better if I could run this with the same app as my Neo devices.
I agree ... with all the other reviews... signing up is very frustrating... it asks for 6-10 letters/ numbers... then refuses password an the asks for underline (whatever that means). Why can’t these company’s get their act together BEFORE they put their product out there... GREED! Don’t waste your time!
Got this is a gift. Hooked it up to the outlet we plug our Christmas tree to and it took all of 60 seconds to sign up for an account and link up the device. I typed in an alphanumeric user name and it accepted it no problem. (It asks for it as letters/number/underline, which means you can use letters, numbers, and the _ character in your user name, seems some people had difficulty with this part?♂️). I wish all these devices would just join the HomeKit protocol already. It’s a pain having to use different apps for different devices.
I’ve been using Ankuoo products for a few years now. Started out with the NEO switches but when I got an Amazon Echo I decided I wanted my switches to work with Alexa. The upgrade to the Rec products has been painless and they work well with Alexa. The App works great and I like how the photos that I assign to each switch show up across multiple devices (phones) attached to the Rec account.
This is a great app to remotely control devices, but needs Apple watch app support to make it a 5 star. If you could easily access device turn off/on from a simple watch interface it would make this perfect!
The app worked great until I had to get a new phone now it will not let my put my password in for my WiFi I had restarted my light switch because I had to make a new account
