This app gives you genuine, real life nature sound recordings by sound engineer and nature sounds field recordist Charles Vald. They capture every type of rain - gentle, drizzle, heavy, hailstones, thunder. It also includes birdsong and so much more.
Now with "Thunderstorm Generator" to choose, edit and play your favourite thunderstorm sounds and mix them with the rain. You can even select a thunder sound and gently shake your iPhone/iPad to create thunder. Great fun!
Charles explains, "Getting good recordings of rain is quite a challenge. Light rain is very quiet and amplifying it brings out all the other background sounds - birds fluttering, leaves rustling, cars, aeroplanes etc. For this reason, many rain recordings are not real rain at all, but recorded under more controlled conditions in a shower. I didn't want that. I wanted to produce the most authentic sound, rain that really sounds as if it's coming at you. The rain, hailstones, thunder are all real recordings.”

Charles readily admits that he got completely obsessed by rain while making this album and ended up gathering over 50 hours of recordings. "Listening to all of the recordings was time consuming and hard work. I could hear rain in my sleep. I knew I was near the finished product when my wife, who was working in the next room, actually thought it was raining outside."
