Controls are super frustrating

I downloaded this onto my iPhone and the touch screen controls make this unplayable. Most of the time my finger is blocking something that is happening and it caused most of my deaths. Game could use an option to have a "slide" on the side that doesn't contain the actual game so you can use your finger without it covering gameplay. Would have been fun but 100% waste of $3.

What surprises me is that I've never heard of this game before. All I knew was Contra growing up this game is awesome.
iPhone X support needed

Game plY is how I remember it. However, the lack of X support has a huge issue. The left 1” if the screen is not used and therefore it’s easy for your finger to drift into that unrecognized part of the screen which means you’ve lost control. Please add support.
