A real life saver

Quiltnut1959

Love this app! I use it all the time especially when buying fabric. I can figure out what I need and it saves me $$$

Great App

Just Me Lele

I love to quilt and I have been using excel worksheet to determine the amount of fabric I need and how to lay out my quilt based on the size. This app is great and so far has everything I have been looking for, and IT IS FREE! Love it!

Recent update

MrsJelly1

I've used this app for a while, but the latest update is inaccurate. When calculating the binding, it consistently says I need 1 yard of fabric. Four strips @ 2 1/2" or seven strips at 2 1/2" -- fabric required is 1 yard.

Help?

I'm sure this would be a good app if you knew how to use it. I just want to know how many yards of fabric I need to buy to make a quilt.

Inaccurate

TamsterA

I would to say this is a good app but it has consistently been incorrect. I even had a friend who is an exceptional quilter see the mistakes it makes.

This has been so helpful!

I didn't sew until I was 70 - office machines held my attention all my business life and I was tech / app savvy. When I found this app, I had no idea it would be so handy!! Always with me, I can figure yardage faster than my math-friendly husband - and know which direction to cut my pieces to save yardage. I encourage my quilting friends to take a look, promising them if they don't like it, one lady much is in me. Thanks for providing this help.

No longer has landscape view

I have used this app a lot and have always loved it. But I use my iPad in landscape mode all the time. This app used to allow for that. Now you can only use it in portrait mode. I don’t like that. Pleas add landscape mode back.

Used to love it

Disappointed Quilter

After recent updates, this app is no longer accurate. It used to be my go to app for calculating borders and bindings, but no more. Says you need much more fabric than you do. I’ll go back to math to figure what I need. It used to be a time saver. I will miss it.

Please provide landscape mode/iPad version

This app has been very handy for me. I haven’t found the miscalculation some have reported, although if you really want to save every inch it might be a bit generous. However, I have an iPad in my sewing room that’s on a stand in landscape mode mode which I use for viewing PDFs while sewing, etc. When I want to use this app I’ve got to unplug it and rotate which is cumbersome and inconvenient. I also took a star off because there are some typos in the text, some of which are just grammatical and can easily be ignored, but some are confusing, such as combining inches and centimeters in the same explanation (eg, in the discussion of how backing is calculated they add an overage of 4 cm to a quilt measured in inches). It’s obvious the writer meant inches but these things should be caught in proofreading. So, 4 stars for the iPhone, but 2 for the iPad.

Helpful in a Pinch

Ever find a fabric you love but forgot how much you need? Or make an adjustment in the pattern? This app helped me. I also designed my own quilt pattern and was able to determine how much fabric I would need. I have not had issues I've seen in other posts. Just be sure to put right info in correct boxes.
