I have found these tutorials so helpful. I’ve made two of these quilts; Night Stars and the basket quilt. Both seemed complicated at first, but the tutorial completely took that away. I just can’t say enough good things for the whole website.

When I decided to learn to quilt 6 years ago, it just wasn’t quite enough to read the directions and follow them to produce the beauty in fabric that I was attempting to produce. One afternoon I stumbled upon Jenny Doan’s YouTube tutorials ... the Quilting Gods laughed.....and I cried. Here, right in front of me was the answer to my needs!!! Here stood a real QUILTER who was showing me the easy way to make those gorgeous quilts that I truly wanted to make for my home and for my family & friends. I watched Jenny cut and sew and I emulated her “moves”... pretty soon I was ahead, I’d passed her up, bought myself a really nice sewing machine and took up free motion quilting and haven’t looked back. I’ve moved from beginner quilts to advanced and have begun to design some of my own. I just want to say, “Thanks so much,” to Jenny and to the staff members at MSQC. It’s because of y’all that this retired anesthesia provider has become “QUILT WOMAN”!!! I even have my own long arm & Pro/Stitcher for my own Quilting Enjoyment...now, if I could just train my 2 little doggies to pick up after me when I decide to “give up on quilting after a long day... “he, he, he, he!

What a difference from the itty bitty grandmother’s flower garden. Good use of precuts. Have a set of four hexagons from 5 1/2 to 8 1/2 so will try this pattern. Of course, I will use my machine!. Obviously precuts will not be used.I can imagine a Quilt of apprising this technique.
