Pretty good

Having some difficulties with it, but it’s worth $5

Putty is really good

The only thing I would do to improve it is to add texture brushes. It would be so cool if you could add paint brushes as well to cover the model with paint. Also include more models to modify.

An incredible app with a lot of potential.

First off, let me say some of the negative reviews you see on here are pure nonsense. As a 3D artist who uses a lot of ZBrush I’ve long wanted something that could act in a similar fashion on the iPad Pro. This is hands down the better sculpting app I’ve used. Is it as feature complete as ZBrush? Of course not, but it’s also $5 verses $800. It’s a great app for playing with ideas and roughing out forms. I’d love to see some extra brushes in the future as well as a way to rotate the model using the pen in 3D space (similar to ZBrush). The app as it currently stands is worth every penny and more.

Decent, but Not as good as Claimed...

I am a blender and forger user and decided to give putty a try just because it looked like it might be really good and it does a lot of things a lot better but not enough to keep or pull me over completely. What I like about putty mainly is the speedy sculpting which is very quick and responsive, it has fantastic lighting - the best I’ve ever seen on ios, camera control, visual mirroring. However, I am rather annoyed with everything else, it’s just not intuitive, makes no sense, nothing is recognizable by standard 3d modeling which isn’t friendly to most artists from other software unless you’ve never used any others so it is confusing until you try to play with and figure it out, a grab brush is a must to push and pull geometry - just the add subtract smooth cutting and extrusions aren’t enough, no landscape mode for iphone, no good tutorials other than the quick one or a few sped up demos which isn’t all that helpful, and can’t even texture paint. I’m gonna keep trying to get the hang of it anyway and will update my review if I change my mind about it later on but as a Blender 3d Artist I find putty more frustrating than forger and blender combined even though I know there’s a learning curve for everything.

Woa!!!

It’s great but needs work

The tool that is like Zspheres is most powerful and what always needed to be done in 3D software. You have a great base to make a true pro software. The undo limit doesn’t make sense on something like iPad Pro. What you should do is really focus on making this a pro software. The price doesn’t line up with what’s offered. It’s really good/ but just not enough. Second, it needs to capture more find precision when sculpting. Like Forger or Sculptris. You can feel a post correction in it that feels unnatural in certain areas. You are really close though. It’s all brilliant work- but you can really transform this into the pro sculpting software people want/need for iPad Pro. UI needs major work all around. Too many steps upon steps. Must streamline UI. The plus, minus button covering the strength slider = no no. Here are my suggestions- because it’s great Need the ability to move, pan, and rotate with the pencil tip. Super important- it will be much more intuitive to do with the pencil tip. Two finger gestures to move and pan are cumbersome and unintuitive in modern development. Two finger should be for rotating the Canvas. Need to see the brush cursor when sculpting Grab and stretch clay tool. It just makes head sculpting much easier. It’s a pretty major thing that’s missing here. Will be important to get it in asap Zoom, Pan, rotation, should be combined into one and it shouldn’t be a two finger action. It should be a one finger action and done with the pencil tip. Having to scrub between them isn’t ideal UX and it adds layers of actions that aren’t needed. Combing them into one will be really important for intuitiveness. You’ll need to include a description of the tools and what they do, with names. Need a full screen mode- one button pan to full screen. layer support Wire frame overlay would be cool I don’t know how you are handling the mesh or subdivisions but manual control would be cool unless it’s not needed Need a pressure graph to control the pencils pressure input And if you can get painting built in- You will seriously have one of the very best sculpting softwares ever made. Allow for pro workflows, build in keyboard short cut hotkeys, and on screen hot keys and you will be set. If you mold the software to cover the needs of pro’s you have a big chance to disrupt things. 3D workers do not have portable machines with the power & battery life like iPad Pro. It will totally change the game. Your engine has the ability to completely change the game. It’s like sculptris with the major function that’s missing from it- a better version of ZSpheres. Software has great potential.

Good app some (serious) zbrush tools missing

Ok I love the app so far. Zbrush vet here and this is a good iPad app for clay sculpting. Problem. Where is the Move brush? I sculpted something I liked and it was just a circle. I really couldn’t move the jaw forward without having to model it all forward. Flatten tool? There are really no layers, so sculpting a body separate from the head is impossible. If you don’t have access to zbrush or you are away from your desktop.. well it’s a beginning app.

Waste of money.

I purchased this app hoping it would be a nicer, high quality app, as an alternative to another app that was relatively cheap and not great. Honestly, the old app was better. You cannot make a skeleton for your model, which makes it extremely hard to do something like a human, or anything with a realistic anatomy. It is very hard to shape, partly because you have a space limit, which isn’t very much. Once you reach the limit your work becomes square, and often you are unable to undo it far enough to fix it. it doesn’t give you a symmetry option, or at least from what i can tell, so on most of my models it would be half really nice, and the other half would look totally different. I’m being generous with two stars. The only good thing about the app is how smooth the texture is.

God awful

It’s like taking a lawn mower to your face. Absolutely impossible to navigate. The camera is extremely hard to use. A total waste of money and a complete rip off. Shame on whoever made this.

Can I get a refund?

This apps quality is terrible, it’s like it is 64 bit
