More or less works, but very rough around the edges

It took some time to get my Pulse working, and it needs to be activated in very particular way, namely: Turn on camera (Canon 6DMk2) Turn on Pulse Connect Pulse via USB Open iOS app Otherwise it won’t work at all. HDR doesn’t work (presents an error message) and long exposure doesn’t either (takes a shot at a shutter speed besides what I specified). Bluetooth preview image is hit or miss too. I also verified that I’m at the latest firmware :-/ I got this for time lapses, which do work though.

Pulse -Incredible

This app which controls the Pulse is truly amazing. A must have for anyone interested in time lapse photography. Very user friendly!

Amazing device and app!
krt

Pulse and the app are incredible and a very powerful tool. I've taken several timelapses and everything works very well. There are only a couple exceptions. The number scrollers for the ISO, exposure, etc do not land on values very quickly; they tend to hover. There is also a bit of annoyance with the dialogue that appears when trying to view the thumbnail when you take a picture. Other than that such an amazing product!

Avoid until bugs are fixed
Pulse controller

I supported the Pulse Camera Controller on Kickstarter and recently received the device and downloaded the app. The current version of the app does not connect to the Pulse Controller even though it shows up in my my iPhone's Bluetooth device list. I've requested support from Alpine Labs but have not yet received a response.

Bluetooth doesn't work
henry86liu

I got it to connect once, but can't seem to connect to my phone again. My phone says it's connected to the pulse bluetooth, but the app says it's not connected. Kind of useless, I guess I'll wait for a fix.

Broken
hypeserver

App is currently broke. It pairs with the device, will trigger the shutter, try to load the thumbnail and disconnects from the device. Unfortunately I was a kickstarter backer, but hopefully better support for the device comes soon. Delay after delay after delay and I wind up with a device that doesn't even work as advertised.

Potential but disappointed
First time Pulse reviewer

I appreciate that the problem they are trying to solve is hard. Hardware and bluetooth integration is never fun. But giving how much I was looking forward to the Pulse I can't help but feel really let down. The thumbnail feature doesn't work at all. Funnily it only shows the last photo taken WITHOUT the Pulse which pretty much defeats the point. Taking a video and then going to take a photo causes it to blink blue but not actually activate the shutter. Power cycling the Pulse is the only way to get it back. Hopefully there are some updates soon. I really want to like it.
