Superb!

Beautifully designed and executed. I've always been fascinated by prisms and this app is a remarkable way to experiment with refraction. The authors have done an excellent job of designing an interface that gives you intuitive and extensive control over the prisms, beam placement, and parameters. Highly recommended if you are curious and enjoy beautiful visualizations.

Sooo close

I'd be willing to bet it's a lot more fun on the iPad , because it's almost impossible to manipulate and align the prisms with any precision on an iPod touch. Fantastic nonetheless !

Magical

Very entertaining ... and quite magical!

Prism app

It's a great app for about 10 minutes. Definitely not worth the 2.99 Price tag. It would be nice if you could play your iTunes library to it maybe. Unless you really need to play with your phone a lot I would not recommend it.

Pretty, But Needs More:

1) Needs to stop moving things on me. It's very difficult to make a prism stop rotating on its own. At least give it more "drag" 2) Colors should blend rather than be (not even anti-aliased) lines. Cast single lines, but then calculate each pixel based on a blend between adjacent lines. 3) Landscape mode. 4) Presets, such as two prisms and a lens to reconstruct white light. 5) Lenses! 6) Option to turn off reflection. 7) Save and restore layouts. 8) Touching outside the prisms should block the light, as if my finger were really in the way. (Multi-touch of course)

Better iOS support

This is a gorgeous app. As said by someone else, LANDSCAPE orientation needs to be supported on the HDMI output. This is a standard feature on iPad 2 and 3 - if the iPad is in Landscape orientation, then the screen output on HDMI will be Landscape. This is important because many people (including me) will want to display this beautiful app on a big screen. As an example, I do trade shows where I would like to display this app but I cannot because our monitors are set up for Landscape. Another key iOS feature that is missing - the ability to have the app override the sleep timer. My corporate iPad is synced with MS Exchange (as are many of your customers) and the iPad will go into standby unless: * I am running an app such as ClockXtrmHD or Music that will override the standby timer AND * the iPad is plugged into power. How can I demo this app at a trade show if the darn thing keeps going to sleep? Suggest you include an option in iOS Settings for the app. But as I said first, what a really beautiful app this is! Fantastic mechanics and great educational value for video geeks.
